Just an update:
We we had ambient temps close to 90+ and I took 140 mile round trip which included highway and city driving pulling my trailer that was fully loaded and my wife and I on the Spyder.
The temps recorded in the area of the gas tank and body panel areas as well as the engine temp was 40% lower than prior to my modifications.
I can now say the machine is working great and I am really pleased with the success and verification of the data I have been taking. In fact I stopped for fuel and the tank fuel cap inlet area was cool to touch.
The only other thing I did was add a baker wing on the lower cove of my right foot to deflect the radiator hot air out and around it worked very well as I wore sandals on my feet so the heat was minimal.
My fuel mileage is averaging 30 MPG and I do not a baby the machine.
That's great to hear. Again, your improvements only point to the fact that heat would be reduced. I'm glad that you were able to verify the results.
