• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heard back on my trailer

I just heard back on my RT622....They told my there is now a recall on the trailers. They then told me they had to do the recall on their instock (13 unsold) trailers before they could start on mine. I ask how long and was told to come pick up ASAp because it would be 3 months and they didn't have room for it.

That ain't right at all! :gaah:

There is some history here. I made a deal with them to buy a trailer. Told them to order it, said okay. Waited 4 Months calling them every 2 to 3 weeks. Went back in the dealership in person and asked about where the trailer was and was told "Oh it's not ordered yet". So I canceled the deal and and bought elsewhere and I guess they must be holding that against me. I have used their service department several time great service.

The aftermarkets are sounding better and better! What could go wrong with a trailer?

Sent from my home in Central Texas!

It should not matter where you bought it, if it's a warranty item, it should be taken care of BEFORE they repair the unsold in stock items. Some dealers just don't get it. :banghead::gaah:

Trailer "Campaign"

My RT is in the shop having the Sayre pump seal replaced (@ 2400 mi.). In checking on the progress I mentioned to the service mgr. about the posting here. He indicated that there is a "campaign" (BRP-speak for recall) on certain units based on serial number. I'm awaiting word on mine. You should have the serial number checked in the BRP system.

Will keep watching. It does sound like the dealer does not want to work on your trailer. Thirteen trailers in stock? Must fix the unsold ones before they can work on the customers? Three months to fix? I DON'T THINK SO!

Lamonster, can you get to the bottom of this trailer recall issue? Fact or fiction? We need details, please.

Does anyone know of a better aftermarket hub/bearing replacement?

is there not another dealer you can use?, that me is like the dealer is telling you to go pound sand.

Unacceptable if they want your business sounds like they don't

The next closest is about 120 miles away. Since my plan to pull it to SF is probably not happening, I will probably trailer the RT and put the trailer in the bed of the truck and drop it off where I bought it. The person I needed to talk to there was out today. I would have to cut 1 day off of SF to pick it up on the way home. I'll find out more tommorrow.

Have to agree..!!

:wrong: something is amiss. There is no way a dealer in good standing with any scruples would work on crated units over customers. Never while I worked for dealers....sorry!!

Just to clarify things once again...a warranty campaign is not a recall! It is in-house fix made to a specific production run of vehicles, to inspect for or correct a recurring problem. A recall is a correction for a critical safety issue, that may be initiated by the manufacturer, but is done through the government's safety agency, the NHTSA in the US. The recall fix has to be approved and authorized by the government authority, is overseen by them, and the results are reported to the government on a regular basis. Recalls are relatively rare, compared to warranty campaigns and technical service bulletins to inspect and/or repair less critical issues. You can find a list of recalls online at the govermnet site, but notification of TSBs and campaigns are distributed to the dealers, so must be learned of through them.

Update: My RT Limited will be finished tomorrow for the water pump seal, and my trailer is in the "warranty campaign". The replacement wheel hubs have been ordered, and repair will be completed on Monday, in time to leave for Spyderfest!
