• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Heard back on my trailer

I am going to drop my trailer at Louis Powersports in Greenville, TX on my way to SF and pick it up on the way home.

Follow Up

When I first read this thread (actually it was the thread started in the RT Subforum), I read it with interest. Although I have a 2013 RT-S, my trailer is a 2012 622.

Based on both threads I took my trailer down to my dealer to have them check. They said all was well. I guess it was after "this particular thread" that I still felt a bit uncomfortable heading out to Spyderfest so I forwarded this thread to Greg Hale, Service Manager at Seminole Power Sports.

Greg told me that there was/is a warranty campaign (for lack of a better term) and that my trailer HAD a vin number which fell in those that needed servicing. He said that when my dealer went to paint my trailer circuit yellow, they also had the wheel bearings switched out based on that campaign.

Needless to say I feel much more at ease heading out, but I did want to post this to confirm what some others had said about it depending on your vin number for the 2012 622 trailer.

I dropped my 2010 trailer the other day. The tech did mentioned the wheel bearings recall and was perplexed on the wiring. Apperantly on the 2010's the harness that goes from under the trailer, thru the tounge and connects to the Spyder is different on the 2010's, and the plugs that need to connect under the trailer don't match. Hope he gets it done before Spyderfest...

The 2010 trailer is wired differently, but it is easy to convert to 4-wire. Feel free to have your tech contact me and I would be happy to walk him through it.

Thanks Scotty! I like this "new" tech... younger, and he searches for answers on BRP's technotes rather than go on instincts like my previous one did...:yikes::banghead:... The reason I hope it is going to be ready for Spyderfest is because when I brought the trailer in he goes "wish you've had called me... I am swamped until next month!" (heard that song before):bdh: BUt I left it regardless... not going to go cross-state without lights on the trailer anyway...

Wish I was closer. We'd have you fixed up in no time. BTW, BRP is pretty confused about this, so the tech bulletins may not help. Easy to slpice in a matching square-4 connector, but you can't go by matching the wire colors. Figuring out the wire positions and functions works best. Theoretically, you would hook your new, mating connector up as follows:
Connector brown to trailer brown
Connector yellow to trailer orange
Connector green to trailer red
Connector white to trailer black

Unfortunately, not all the trailers seem to follow this pattern, and the new harness positions may not match the standard code, so some wire testing may be needed. This is a good place to start, though.

It's Official

I will be droping the trailer at Luis Power Sports on the way to SF, pick it up on the way home. Talked with the Service Mgr today, he said we are all set. Amazing ..... it's not going to take 3 months after :yes:all.

Not a BRP trailer but tearing hair anyway

Professor I'd like to take you up on that offer. Here's the deal, my trailer is a Piggy Backer XL, standard flat 4 wire connection. Had the 2012 RT-S into the dealer to have the hitvh and some addon leds installed. Everything is done except getting the wiring to the trailer. Supposedly we are waiting on some version of the Hopkins company adapter and have been for over 3 weeks now. :banghead: (The week it was in the shop and the 2 weeks since I've had it backing waiting for a call). I plan to run down there tomorrow or Sunday to talk to the SM rather than phone, but if I knew what the module pn was and with a little help from my friends I think I could get this done myself.

Wont make SF this year put have a trip planned for the end of the month then off to DC end of May for Rolling Thunder, first year I have a bike and I really want to make the trip.

PM me. I have a few questions. Do you have the BRP hitch/harness? If so, you already have a module and can't piggyback another. If you have the BRP hitch, the trailer will have to be rewired if it is 5-wire...can be hooked right up if it is 4-wire. PM me and we'll work out the details.

Okay and thanks

Gotta gigure PM as I've only replied but it'll only take a minute or 2 I'm sure.
