• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Having a new VSS installed next week

After a series of "Faulty Brake" codes and several phoncons with BRP techs by the mechanic trying to figure out why, they decided to replace the VSS and one is now at my local dealer ready for installation, under warranty.

Other than it somehow has control over the brakes, what the heck is this VSS thing that the fiche lists for $1000?

What else does it do?

VSS = Vehicle Stability System

Another of the many Spyder processors that controls braking and acceleration and on and on...

Part of the subsystems that make up the Nanny.

The VSS is the Vehicle Stability System. It has several components and is not replaceable in itself. You are likely getting the VCM replaced. That is the Vehicle Control Module. It controls your brakes.

Svc Mngr looked at this listing when I dropped it off a couple days ago and to my question as to what part BRP sent, he said "VSS, cost $1089" or somesuch number. They called this PM and said it was ready and took 7 hrs labor. Whew, glad I don't have to pay for that. I did have a new air filter installed while it was torn down.
Picking it up tmr.:yes:

Edited 8-10-13: Got her home today. Cruise ct don't work. Assume it just needs a reprogram. Was too hot to take it back today.

New turn sig works like a charm. Now I can use it in city/heavy traffic without having to look to see if its off.
