It is recommended to clean the oil tank strainer at the 600 mi service and the next time at the 12k service.
Drain the oil tank. The strainer is screwed into the lower portion of the oil tank facing rearward. Remove the Oetiker clamp (it's the one shot clamp)that will have to be replaced. DON'T install a regular worm gear clamp they don't clamp 360 degrees. It could possibly leak. Unscrew the strainer. Replace the o-ring. Clean the strainer, blow it out with compressed air. Reinstall the strainer and install clamp on the hose. reinstall the hose to the tank, and squeeze the clamp. Change the oil filter and o-ring Refill the tank with oil make sure and follow the directions on the oil tank to get to proper oil level.
