• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has Miliage

I-Day

New member
I have a 2016 F3 Limited with 5023 miles on it! I checked gas miliage today and barely 20 mpg! 🤨! Ok I’m 320lb and had head wind today but 20 mpg? What say the experts?

I record mine 3 tanks at a time. When I was at ~5k miles, I was getting 34.0 to 36.5 mpg (nine tanks in a row).

Now, at 71k+ miles, the last nine tanks ranged from 36.9 to 38.1 mpg.

YMMV!

Just filled up from most recent ryde on 2017 F3L- 412 km (256 miles); took 22.9 L (6 gals). That's about 5.6 L/100 km (close to 43 mpg US). We were ryding two-up (combined weight 365 lbs) on gently rolling back country roads doing about 80 km/h or 50 m/hr average on a warm day here 29C or 84F, in S. Ontario.

Over the past two years, we have averaged about 6L/100 km, or close to 40 mpg, maybe 38 -39 some days. Doesn't change much whether we ride in ON or FL or places in between. Mileage drops about 15-17% when we also pull trailer. Always using premium fuel - 91/93 octane. Maybe should add, we're not pokey when we ryde, but don't do burn-outs or tear-ass around. We enjoy the peaceful countryside, the quieter back roads, stay off the Interstate and stop for great lunches in interesting out-of-the-way places. And, we love the Spyder; nothing better for a day away!!! Just rolled over the 20,000 km mark (13,000 mi); we've had our best mileage ever in the past two months of use.

We need a whole lot more information here; for any sort of useful comments to exist...
How fast do you ride?
Are you trying to burn the rear tire off the bike; or do you accelerate gently?

Some basis for a comparison...
My Missus and I weigh about 360 combined... (never mind how it breaks down...)
I usually cruise at or below the posted speed limits, and I always shifted as soon as the computer would allow me to do so.
Both of my "1330 RTs (2014, and 2018); got over 39 mpg on the average. (The higest recorded mileage run netted me 43.2 mpg)
On a trip to SpyderFest, and riding with "intent" (speeds well above 85 mph!): I recorded as low as 27 mpg...

On that trip; I was riding solo, but the RT was packed heavy for the trip.
I was usually just a tenth or so of a mile per gallon better, than the guys riding the F-3s...

One of two things IMO.

Possible that mileage was not calculated correct. Quantity of gas put in, and gallons used are important. Gas should be topped off the same each and every time. Also agree...should be done in threes or similar. One reading does not make a totally accurate picture. I have posted my method in several other threads on mpg if you are interested.

Second, could be something wrong with your Spyder. F3 should get high 30's, low 40's. One half of that, all of a sudden, could be telling you that something is not right.
