There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Has anyone heard of new recall on the 2013 ST?

Has anyone heard of any new recall info on the 2013 ST models? A GOS member was told by her dealer that there is a new recall on the ST. He told her that her Master Cylinder has melted and now has an oil leak. (She had already had the first recall work done in September) He said that he was just notified. I could not find anything about a new recall. I don't know if it this has only been told to the Canadian dealers. (Member is from Canada)

Any info would be appreciated.

My 2013 ST Limited had all the recalls done and I had a water pump seal oil leak as well. My bike was in the shop( and still is) waiting to be fixed. When I traded up to my 2013 RT Limited three weeks ago my bike had been in the shop for 2 months already. Two different seal were sent and both were cracked at the ceramic side. I got tired of having problems with my ST and traded for the RT. I hope the RT treats me better. This is my last attempt at a BRP product. After this I am done. My 2010 RS gave me 30000 trouble free miles. The ST trouble from day one. Hopefully RT will also be trouble free. No excuse for bike being in shop two months.

Wish you all the best with the RT! I purchased mine new in September and have had it back 3 times with a handful of piddley things but still the biggest complaint is the heat on the fuel tank and coming out of the body/seat openings. Waiting and hoping for a cure to determine the bikes fate, might go to a 14 or might go back to a Goldwing??

2013 owners beware. I've had my bike at dealer since Dec. I had the recall done in Sept when I bought bike bit brp put another recall for the same problem. The first fix wasn't good enough. I now have melted parts they have to replace. The second recall is for a plate to be installed. Just warning if u only had the one recall done it's still not safe. Brakes can go out and parts can melt. Sigh
This is the original poster on GOS....my guess is that the first recall had a plate...sort of...it was not tall enough...on mine we designed a larger plate and cut off the OEM plate..this is getting dangerous

Are you talking about the exhaust pipe plate/shield ?

I wrapped all around that area because I thought it was pretty short myself. Don't really have any heat problems, but don't want to either.

Yes FB I had both the tin foil and additional guard plate installed during my recall is there more? NHTSA only shows 1 recall same as transport Canada. Tell us more....

Sitting here and still watching for the solution outcome. I want to start hearing the "yes, they fixed my 2013 heat issues" comments. This is unfinished business which needs to be solved. IMO of course. :bbq::bbq::bbq:and yes, pun intended.

I can see where the heat would cause stopping problems. I think there has even been some "suspect" brake failures mentioned on here before. All that heat around that master cylinder could cause the fluid to boil and therefor a loss of brake pressure when stomping the pedal. After everything cools down a bit everything is back to normal, a very difficult thing to diagnose for sure! I had a class A motorhome that had that problem (exhaust manifold heating brake lines) and almost crashed it going down the hills at Cumberland Falls, very scary indeed.. :yikes: BRP really need to get moving on a fix for the heat issues before somebody has a serious issue. Someone getting hurt on their Spyder would not be good for promotional reasons. Remember, "A happy person talks no smack but a pissed off person tells everybody he meets!"
