• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone found a way to remove the start delay using the ECO button?

As already stated, there is no delay, only the inconvenience of pressing the ECO/Mode button. Although I'm so used to it now I don't even really notice it.

Anyone who is thinking there is a delay may be waiting for the dials to go through their cycle before pressing the ECO/mode button and then the starter. You do not have to do this. As soon as you turn the key you can press the ECO/Mode button and hit the starter immediately afterwards. The bike will start even while it's finishing it's dial cycle.

At first I thought I had to wait for it to display the 'read safety card' message before I could press ECO/Mode to acknowledge it. However, one day I just pressed the button without thinking about it and the message was cancelled before it came up. I now do the key, button, starter procedure all within 1 second and it's up and running.

Works on my wife's F3T, thanks

OK, to work throught that:

1. I never flick the red run switch to turn off the bike. I use the key. So my run switch is already in the on position when I switch on with the key. That may have an impact as you're turing on with the key and then putting the red switch to run. May add a delay?

2. You say you're pressing the ECO switch for 1 second, again that's not required. Just a quick press and release is all that's needed. Then hit the starter.

So to go through the order:

1. Make sure run switch is on
2. Turn key to on
3. Quick press on ECO/Mode
4. Hit starter

It should start immediately.

Must disagree. You should always turn the bike off using the kill switch. This programs your muscle memory to hit the kill switch in the event of an emergency. If you use the key all the time instead you may have a delay in shutting down during an emergency as you fumble with the key.
This has been a common practice in cycling for decades.

Never used a kill switch. On the two diffrent deer I killed with a Goldwing the lean angle sensor killed the engine. Is there a tip sensor on our Spydees? No kill switch on a car? We are only one wheel away.
No kill switch in my early days. From 1957. Just conversation.

Most modern cars with electronic fuel injection have high pressure fuel pumps and are equipped with inertia switches that instantly turns the fuel pump off in a accident or a sudden harsh bump...This causes the engine to turn off immediately...

Anyone know if our Spyders are equipped with such a device???

Start Delay

This works for me on my 2015 F3S. Scoot in neutral, brake on, switch on, hold eco mode button
and press start. Starts right up, took awhile for me to figure this out. Just be sure to put in neutral
when parking.

I have a 2016 F3 Limited and I DO have to wait😡
I have an F-3 2016 and you only wait for the word Cam-Am to appear then push the mode button and the starter button at the same time it will start. The computers will continue to up load.
Safe travels

I put my helmet on, turn the key, put my glasses on, put my gloves on, by then the computer is ready to let me start. Enjoy the ride. Lee

Faster start

After I turn the key on and wait a second for the speedometer and tac to clear, I press the eco button and the bike starts up without waiting for the screen to come up.

I started my 2015 F3's & began reading all about this procedure. During reading all the post-- I ran out of gas--is this inconsequential too ?

Na.....that's a bonus, Wildrice. Reading about the procedure saved you running out of gas alone on the highway. That is obviously an undocumented feature of the procedure that comes free ! :ohyea:

....This is more my speed :D:

Hey Bob, I just noticed this - if it's what I think it is, then you know that the 4 small gauges were optional/aftermarket add-ons (or alternatives to the basic warning lights for no oil/high coolant temp) & for the big one you could choose a tach with hour meter instead of that speedo with odometer?!? :dontknow:

Most of the old trucks & 'bikes I learnt to drive/ride on only had a speedo or a tach if they had anything.... & if they did they usually didn't work anyway!! All that extra stuff is just extraneous giggle dials to keep the driver/rider from getting too bored following that bloke with the red flag.... ;)
