• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Has anybody else tried this riser yet?

Stumbled across this 3" riser on eBay a few weeks ago, but then it was gone. I located the maker, and ordered it. I thought it was well worth the risk at only $120. They offer both bare aluminum and black anodized.

I just received and installed it today. It was straightforward and easy, just two bolts holding the plastic lower handlebar cover were hard to get to - a low profile 10mm socket from Sears fixed that. Every thing else was a piece of cake.

I've only ridden with it installed for a half hour or so, so far, but absolutely love the difference in seating position, arms are now bent a bit, and it sure feels like less steering effort is required. Overall, a much nicer riding experience. I give it an A+ so far. Now I need the mirror extensions, hands are right in the middle of the mirrors...

Installed mine today. I should have done it 8 months ago. No left over parts, either! ;) Thanks for the great instructions Quad!

A side note: I didn't have a low profile socket, but it turns out I didn't need it.

We installed...

NMN 4 inch risers on top of the factory one inch riser on two of the Spyders. The 4 inch on top of the 1 gives the grips a nice lift up and back. And I have a 3 inch NMN set for her :D to install on the other SM5. That is if she ever gets round 2 it. /Ken

I've been thinking about installing risers on my spyder. Been looking at all the one's out there. I do have one question about yours though, do they restrict your vision to your guages? If not, I might look more seriously into this one.

The only thing I don't see well is the odometer area. I can see it with a little forward lean, so it is no problem. On another note, I do see way to much of my hands in my mirrors. Extensions for those are next, I guess.

Yes i have the same riser, works fine, finish needs to be cleaned up, cant see my gear indicator or temp gauge without leaning up a bit

Replace BRP management with Ron.

I spoke with Ron today...what a nice guy. He said that he and engineering will have a fix in a matter of days...

He also confirmed the 2" riser is compatible with the 1" BRP riser...in fact, he said that 3" is as far as you can go without worrying about pulling on cables too much.

Looks like I'll be going with the 2" and 1" BRP for 3 total inches...should work well for me...I think the 1" is almost good enough...2 more inches should be perfect!

The man knows how to take care of his customers. Ron, you have another upcoming sale.

except for no fix for handle bar lock.
i contacted him about it last june i think and i been contacting him every few month. at first he said he will have a fix in few days. in november ron said it will be fall/winter project. i contacted him about it this month and answer was no. he replied to email with just a NO. no when or what, just no. i think 10 month was enough time. i will not buy anything from them again.

You can't go wrong with...

the Custom Dynamics, formally NMN (No Magic Neon), risers. I use both the 3 and 4 inch models and they are great. You can adjust the grip angle up or back whatever you desire or need for riding comfort. And they don't interfere with viewing the gauge cluster. /Ken

Ron just lost a sale. I'll look into the other risers. Thanks.

Also just gained one

Have had my 2009 SM5 for about a week and lurking in the background to see what other stuff people have been getting and any issues. So far, I have the Ultra-Touring windshield (another local rider didn't like it) and ordered the 3" risers over the weekend.

Checked email this morning and had something from Rach in their parts department saying they were shipping today.

I like the idea of the ESI and others not interfering with the view of the instruments but cutting the handle-bars had me a little too nervous to try. Those get quite a bit of torque and I was (maybe overly) concerned about them slipping as I'm going around a blind mountain curve with a LOOONNNGGG drop.

What's this wire and how do I stretch it?

All,

I sent an email to RT Sales about an hour ago and thought I'd follow up here. The product is very well made but I have one issue I can't seem to track. After installing, ONE WIRE (heavy gauge but doesn't appear to be multiple wire cluster) is very tight (not quite guitar string but close enough).

The wire in question comes out by the ignition, goes through a small clip on the top of the steering column, goes under the rubber boot, and stays up top before I loose it.

I'm guessing this is something to the instrument cluster but can't find the other end so can't lengthen it.

Comments/Suggestions would be much appreciated.

Dennis
