There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. anyone know what could be the cause of this?

belt tension?

suspension?

tire pressure?

drugs taken before riding? just kidding......

Sounds like the type of vibration that MANY of us experience with the Spyder. It is most likely belt tension. Pick yourself up a cricket gauge and check the tension. Also, check to make sure the belt is tracking correctly (w/the right gap) on the rear sprocket.

Most likely engine harmonics or belt vibrations...or a combination thereof. If it is belt, proper adjustment may move it or lessen it. Also check carfully for debris and build-up in the sprocket grooves. If it is engine, check clearance to the frame/mounts if it is an older RT. Otherwise, chnage your rpm range or get used to it. It does not indicate anything ominous. JMHO

thanks vts & Nancy

didnt think it was anything ominous but was just curious

after riding to & from Daytona this past weekend I noticed it - normally I am just tooling around Melbourne and surrounding areas and dont get anywhere near those speeds, but going to/from Daytona and being out on the Speedway, I definately noticed it..... lol

Harmonic vibration around 5600 /73-5 mph - if its only on 73-75 mph (test it with different gears) I think one (or both) of the frontwheels are not balanced and if so have a look if the Fenders are still tight (happend with mine)

My Spyder and my wife's also suffered from that vibration you described. I re-tensioned the belts and aligned and it's all but gone. I had a tire that was out of balance on my spyder and the idiot dealer refused to look at it and said the balance was fine. I took it to a cycle shop that does great work on high end machines and they re-balanced the fronts. They said one was way out. It's been glass smooth ever since. The difference was that the balance issue was a slight wobble I could feel in the handlebars (typical w/out of balance tires/wheels) whereas the harmonic vibration was felt more in the foot pegs.

mine is kind of a 'buzzzzzzzz' 'hummmmm'

there is a little wobble felt in the handlebars, but its mainly sort of a whole body hummmm type of thing

Harmonics..!!

:agree: With all above. I have found that ground clearance and tupperware play into it. There are allot of thin plastics that when hit with a slight cross wind start to vibrate go over or under that speed and they go away. If all the above check out do like Scotty said "get used to it". Flick the spyderpops belt guard and see what I mean...
