• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guts and Glory Rally

My RTS was lucky to get 120 out of a (6 gallon) tank...sometimes less. Nancy's RS will be sucking fumes at 160. Spyders seem to be quite variable in this department. :agree: that 170 is stretching it uncomfortably too far...especially for an RT.

I agree, the RT is going to be in trouble at 150-160. Throw in some head wind or mountain driving and you're not going to get that much out of it.

I'm not sure that an auxilary tank less than 1 gallon is worth the effort. But where are you going to put a tank of even that size?

:congrats: Will Barclayand and his Harley :2thumbs: Are the Spyders be the ones in G & G ? :doorag:

While I think doc could get by without his radar and jammers --- how on earth will he make it without packing heat?:roflblack:

Seems odd to have a rally in support of our freedoms--- and then tell you that weapons are not allowed.....:hun:

Good luck to all that are going--- this will be neat to follow along online!

Have you seen their website lately? They have chair-persons in place to answer questions. A guy by the name of Ed Lewis is the Route Chair. I asked him about the route concerning gas stations. He said that they had planned the route to where gas would be available at least every 150 miles. Seems they are looking at the route to make sure a rider can make it with out running out of fuel. So maybe they are looking at this from a rider's point of view!:2thumbs::clap::congrats::ohyea:

I'm seeing your name show up on all the boards. Are you working for or with them? I already know the answer, just wanted to hear it from you.

Yes I am! I too am a long distance rider. I have logged over 100k in the past 7 years. I have ridden in 25+ states. I know how we are looking at this ride and it is from a riders standpoint. With out riders we have nothing. I / We have nothing to hide from our riders. All I am doing it trying to get the word out to riders of different groups about the Guts and Glory Rally.

Thanks

It was good talking with you on the phone. Feel free to share any information you have on the Rally here. I'm sure there will be more than a few signed up for this before it's all said and done. :doorag:

In order to finish the G&G ride with 0 points, one should be early in every check point with 16.66 hours... 818.18 miles per leg with average 49.11 miles/hour. The independent timing company shouldn't be too much off +/- from these values.

Don't get yourself booted out now. :lecturef_smilie:

I do believe that Can Am WILL surprise everyone on their ability to win. Also, that is an interesting thought you have concerning the speed and time of the legs. Keep in mind that ONLY the independent timing company will know the "Ideal" time that it will take to travel a leg of the Rally. Also, every rider will start out with 11,000 points at the beginning of the Rally in Los Angeles. You are deducted 1 point for every minute you are off the "Ideal" time. So you want to have the MOST points at the end of the each of the 11 legs and at the end of the Rally. Then it is CHAAAACHING!!!!! You’re in the money.

Then all will be saying  WE ARE NOT WORTHY
:firstplace: :congrats:  :ohyea:

What happens in the case of a tie or multiple contestants with identical scores?
