• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i have been trying to update my GPS and when i hook it up to the computer i get a message saying UNABLE TO CONNECT TO GARMIN, anyone else getting this message and if so what do i need to do to check for updates, thanks

My brand spanking new Garmin 660 (owned the bike 4 days) crashed and burned on the last (first for this unit) update last week. Had to send the unit back to Can Am.

I had to download a new Garmin Express for my Mac four this update. There are many who had this problem with the Mac computer but Garmin says it wasn't the software. :dontknow:

Garmin

If you haven't gone to the Garmin website to download the Garmin Express program, try that. It seems they want you to use that program to get updates for the gps.

i have the program from garmin but i will try to re download it later because i need the gps today to find a place i am going to, thanks

re download

i just re downloaded garmin express and it is telling me to upgrade my computer to windows vista or newer now, i guess garmin is now allowing us XP owners to use the updates anymore Grrrrrr

Lets see if I got this right
You need the GPS to find where your going
You need to find the update for the GPS so the GPS can find where your going
You need to find a new operating system for your computer to find the update for the GPS so the GPS can find where your going
I'm already lost
Think I'll stay home:roflblack:

Really..!!!

your garmin is that old..!! :roflblack::roflblack: mine is always telling me to update and I never do and it still finds all the places. If I don't have it on the spyder my wife goes to Waze and we go from there...next there going to tell you you need a newer vehicle..!! :roflblack::roflblack:

This may sound strange....

By chance, did you open the battery compartment on the back of the Garmin and see the computer cord connection inside? At first, I tried using the attachment block that fits on the back of the Garmin and I got the same message. It wasn't until someone (my wife) told me that I needed to take it off and open the battery compartment and use the connection "inside the Garmin" before it would work properly. If you have already tried this, then disregard this post.

Sometimes the obvious path isn't the one taken:2thumbs:
