• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hi all looking for a gps that is good outside in sun light. Is there any that work well in outside condition?
Thanks Kenn

Motorcycle GPS

My Garmin Zummo 660 works for me. So far I've never had the screen so washed out from sunlight that I couldn't read it. Also she talks so you can hear the directions.

Same with me. I have that Garmin and it is great in direct sunlight. And responds even with gloves on.

I have a Garmin 2460 even with a "cover" if the light is directly on it, it sucks. However, a Garmin is the only way to go.

I have the Garmin 660 with my 2013 RTL, which I like and have no problems with it, but I understand that the 2015 RTL comes with the Garmin 590 which is suppose to be a better model

No problems with my Zumo 660. When I can see it, due to bright sun, I can always hear it . . . either through the speakers or through my Bluetooth in my helmet . . . and, as mentioned above, it has a "motorcycle" stting for entries . . . bigger letters and numbers so you can use it with gloves on.

Garmin 660 - been using it since it first came out.
On transferring it to the Spyder I added a sunscreen collapsable hoodie :)

Another vote for Garmin...I just use the one out of my car when I need one. It's a $150 Nuvi 1450 and has never failed me. If it starts to look like rain, I pull a .02 sandwich bag over the top of it. I use TYRE to make my routes on my laptop if going on a trip.

Garmin 660 & 665 here. Both with custom fit hard plastic sun shield which helps some, depending on the time of day & direction of travel in relationship to the sun. As has been said, just because you cannot see it does not mean all is lost. You'll still receive verbal cues. Garmin has recently introduced a couple of new 'motorcycle specific' units. If you visit Garmins website you can do a side by side comparrison of all.
