Good Price on 2017 F3-S?

Came across a dealer offering a new (stock) 2017 F3-S semi-automatic for $17,450.....Good price? or is there room to still negotiate? (I have nothing to trade-in.) Would appreciate any and all opinions on this.

Also - What exactly is the "sport mode" on this model?

Thanks!

PRICE

IMHO at this time of year H*LL YEA it's a very good price ...... the SE trans alone is a $16-1700 option .... Mike

It turns off / reduces the traction control intervention. Allows bigger burnouts and potentially donuts.

Other than that it's pretty much pointless, IMO.

They May be offering you the lower price because you have Nothing to Trade In?
They don't have to worry about the 2nd sale of your old bike too make a PROFIT!
Great price if it has a Full warranty and is New.

Not an F3-S......

After getting all of your responses saying that this was such an excellent price, I suspected something might be amiss with the info I was given, so I returned to the dealership today to ask a few more questions.

It turns out that the price I was quoted is for a stock base model F3, NOT an F3-S  The salesperson told me it was an F3-S the other day, but was wrong. Their price on an F3-S (SE) is actually $21,999 - Quite a difference (sadly).

So, I need to change my questions to:

1. What would you consider a good (approximate) price on a stock 2017 F3-S (SE)? How about on a stock 2017 F3 (SE) base model?

2. Is the difference in price between a base F3 and a F3-S really worthwhile? The only differences that I know of are the addition of LED lights, cruise control, 10 HP more, "Sport Mode" and cosmetics. Are those things really worth an additional $4500, or thereabouts? Or are there other advantages to the F3-S?

Thanks!

If you can wait til about September, more incentives should pop up.
My local dealership has the F3-S for 20,244.00

The only differences I'm aware of are the cruise control (can be added for $200) and the fenders. 10 HP difference? Not sure about that. I heard there was a difference from a 2015 F3 to a 2017 F3S of 10HP... but not within the same year. All that could also be BS or just a typo in their specs... it's happened many times before with Spyder's.

Why not look around for a 2015 or 2016? They are out there.

I got my brand new 2015 F3 SM6 this past fall for $14,500. Added cruise for $200. Used the savings from the sale to add a few thousand of custom extras that I needed to add anyway... Corbin seat, GIVI bags, F4 Winshield, pegs, rear fender, LED lights, etc....

Good luck... shop around!

Wow! I really hate when they pull the old switch job. I paid quite a bit less than the $21,999 figure for my F3T with audio from Imotorsports. In fact, they actually still have some left over F3 Limiteds for the price your dealer quoted you. Check out their inventory and give Jason a call. Remember shipping is free.
They even will ship to your vacation site. They were great to work with.

:agree::agree::agree: ......there was a thread here just recently about the wiring etc, for CRUISE BEING IN THE PLASTIC SURROUND ... and how to get it to work !!!!! ..... If it has a full warranty I think it's still a pretty good deal.................jmho .... Mike:thumbup:

Agree with Firefly, I got my 2015 F3S-SE6 last year in September for $16,100. You can get great deals on new bikes but previous years.

I will do that - Thanks.

I know that you had an excellent experience in purchasing yours. But I'm wondering whether your local dealer gives you a hard time when it's time for servicing because you bought it elsewhere?

(I've actually experienced this when purchasing my last car somewhere other than the local dealer.)

Thanks.

GOOD SERVICE - BAD SERVICE

I will do that - Thanks.

IMHO - There is no guarantee about buying at this or that dealer and then getting better service.... It's a MYTH ... Lots of folks here have been Screwed Royally by the dealer they bought from :yikes:..... and then found an HONEST dealer and got better service .... The fact is - the service Dept MAKES money for the Dealership .... if it wasn't for the Service Dept .... the dealership would go out of business just selling Spyders, that is not where they are making the money..... This is the same with Auto and Truck dealers .... I do ALL my own servicing except for any warranty work ( that's free ) because I KNOW it's done and done correctly ( and I'm not a mechanic ) .............. good luck ..... Mike

You seem to be saying that ANY dealership will be willing to service the Spyder, no matter where it was purchased from (because service is where they make their money). That would be great.

I've always assumed the same thing until I was given crap at my local car dealer's service department for not purchasing my car there. I wouldn't want to have the same experience at the local Spyder dealer since there aren't many other places to go for service around here. (I can get my car serviced almost anywhere. I don't think that's true for Spyders. Unfortunately, I'm not a DIYer by any stretch.)

My questions about this is simply based upon my experience with my car.

I have now owned 3 spyders, and 2 of them were purchased new. I bought none of them from my local dealer, and have always received top notch service. I actually explained to them that I attempted to purchase from them, but they were not competitive. Each time, they thanked me for considering them, and still treated me great. I also get a discount on extras, as I told them that it is obvious that I am a out to buy, and willing to shop for the best price. They also give me a certain percent credit toward service with any dollars that I spend with them.

You have had a good experience with the buy elsewhere service here method. There are a few dealers out there that do practice the rough time for customers thing when not purchased from them. It is still happening.

I only have one dealer within a 1500 mile radius. So far, they have been good to me, and I guess I have also been good to them. I cannot complain.
