Good News/Bad News

While waiting for the R/T's to show up I am wondering if BRP wasn't misquoted?I read somewhere that the Spyd. was in development for 10yrs.Maybe with the fires and heat and steering issues they meant to say "developed by 10 yr. olds."

C'mon Brp get it together.

re-posted from another thread...

My local dealer had 60+ units (ATVs & Spyders) in stock but that wasn't enough for BRP, dealer couldn't handle the additional inventory dumping so BRP pulled all their units and off they went.
Another good dealer bites the dust.:cus:

Add: What with the recent fire issues, steering, parking brake, DPS, GPS, locking in gear, lack of dealerships locally, lackadaisical customer support from BRP - my son's MP3 is looking pretty good right about now, maybe it needs a garagemate. I love my Spyder but everytime I ride it's in the back of my mind that something might go wrong.

:agree:
Sure......Just like all the GM and Chrysler dealers that just lost their franchises after president Hope & Change took them over:roflblack:..........

:agree: GM = Goverment Motors

If I was to buy a so called domestic (US) car or truck it would be a Ford product. But thats not going to happen as long as they make Toyota-Honda and Subaru's

Well, I got my recall letter for the steering firmware upgrade. The bad news is that BRP CUT OFF MY DEALER AS OF TODAY BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO BE BLACKMAILED INTO TAKING ATV INVENTORY THAT THEY KNOW THEY CAN'T SELL!!!!!!!
Kissell's Motorsports in State College PA told me a month ago that they were being strong-armed by BRP to take 44 ATV's per year in order to keep Spyder sales. Problem is, that's about 4 years worth of inventory, especially when Can-Am Atv's cost $1500-$2k more than other popular brands. They won't even let them service units that were sold BY THEM, some in the last 2 months (I have 2 buddies that both bought, at least partly because of the glowing reports they heard from me about the vehicle.

I called today to set up service and they said BRP shut of their computer access as of TODAY!!!!!!!!!

I AM TICKED!!!!!:cus::cus: :banghead:

Hi John,

Sorry to say, but I knew about Kissell Motorsports having problems with BRP, I steered clear of them and purchased my new Spyder from Mosites in Irwin. There is a dealer in Kittaning on 422. Shoot me a PM, we could get together, I'd be happy to ride with you to another dealer. BTW, Mosites already fixed the DPS on mine and a shift sensor that BRP told them to replace in the SE5. Sorry to hear about the situation with Kissell, that sucks.

I suspect this will be moved to OTB, but it is spyder related and the truth is the truth!

Many of us own more than one of these things and all bought new. We can dump them in a heartbeat if BRP keeps screwing around with the service. Just like gm and chrysler... I'll never buy another one of them... and I've owned many but I am not going to pay twice, once at the dealer and once with tax dollars, and the same applies to BRP if they make it difficult to get service I'll dump them too. Will build my own... folks it ain't rocket science.

And in building our own we can use better quality USA made components instead of these overprice components made in italy.

I have 13 vehicles on the roads in different areas of the country and I have already replaced the gm and chrysler products with fords they didn't take bailout money.

If "We The People" don't stop the Bull:cus: it will never ever go away or stop. It is up to us.
Yup - once the lease is up on my Charger I'll more than likely be done with it. Chrysler and GM leave a very bad taste in my mouth, along with the politicians trying to run this country. What happened to We the People, By the People and For the People? That don't exist anymore.:dontknow:

:roflblack: Same thing happens when I ride my 65 Triumph! :roflblack:

Speaking of Triumphs... I looked at the 1600cc Thunderbird today. Nice bike... reminds me a lot of the Valk but updated with FI.

Think I'll road test one next week.

.

BRP relented slightly and is allowing Kissell's computer access for two more days, so I'm hustling my Spyder up there this afternoon for the steering update. That takes care of my only immediate problem, but still leaves my dealer, and his other customers in the lurch.

It ain't right.

:agree::( I'm new at reading up on everyones posts. Kind of scary, may leave the reading to Dudley so I don't know these things. No, thanks for the heads up on things.

Sadly it is...

partly my fault on the demise of "We The People" for the people and by the people. I accept full responsibility for it being over run by thugs... I have to accept responsibility because no one in govt will and I failed to convince the younger generation that all change is not good.

For the poster that stated he didn't think a manufacturer would deliberately sabotage a producing dealer. I think if you check the story in the Tampa FL news paper... you will see Chrysler sent one of the leading producers in the state a form letter telling them as of June 30, 09 they would not be a dealer any longer. They, chrysler, sent them the letter the first of June, 09. This dealer had less than 30 days to liquidate all the inventory. Additionally this family dealership had to immediately start laying off people and they, the family, had just spent over 2 million dollars in renovation cost that chrysler had encouraged them to do. The family is expecting to have to file bankruptcy. Poor planning on the manufacturers/companies part causes a lot of good businesses to close their doors and lay off personnel. BRP is no exception. Granted you have to have well educated people to run a company and develop products. But sometimes executives get tunnel vision and cannot see a tree in the forest, they can only see the forest.

Just my 2 cents... BRP can help or hurt themselves by over charging for inferior parts, by not paying attention to the total picture and most of all listening to their customers. Remember when you are in business the "customer is always right" even when they aren't.

And if you want to become a Honda or Ford or Microsoft you had better pay close to what your customers are saying both to you and others. I'm hoping they get the wrinkles ironed out soon, very soon.

Went to Kissell's and had the computer update for the steering done. Kicked tires on all the beautiful new (and used) inventory of Triumph, Ducati, Kawasaki, Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Genuine Scooter, and other machines. Sure am going to miss dealing with these guys for Can-Am. They're a great shop, great folks. The Spyders were in great company in a very high profile shop.
Too bad BRP mucked it up!!! :dontknow::gaah::(

I can't say anything about Honda as its been 20 years since I've ridden one of their products but some others here (like me) may have a different, not so glowing, opinion of Ford or Microsoft. I wasn't aware that Microsoft was considered a great customer support company. :dontknow: And the first and only two Ford's I owned were the biggest lemons I've ever driven. :gaah:
