• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This blog is out of order but I just had to get this up while I was still thinking about it.

After leaving Corbin I headed north on the 101. I got to say it was one of the best rides to date, much of that was because of the new Corbin seat On the RT. Not only does it fit like a old pair of jeans but I absolutely love the door for the gas filler. I'll post a full review of the seat later, right now I only have about 150 miles on it but it's great.

As I'm cruising down the 101 I see a Goldwing pulling up on the RT. He was really checking it out and gave me the thumbs up and I returned the favor. I run GL1800Riders.com and it has over 26,000 members so I figured there was a good chance he was one of my members. I took out my camera and locked in the cruise control and started taking pics. He put on a little show for me by locking in his cruise control and then sitting in the passenger seat while he was going down the road. It looked so cool to see the bike going down the road with no driver. Unfortunately my stupid camera locked up and I didn't get any of those shots but I did get this one.

The 101 runs you downtown so I took a couple of pics at the lights I stopped at. I need to go back and spend a little more time there and really check it out but I was loosing daylight fast.

Here's a shot going over the bridge.

Now here's the great part. I pull up to take a shot looking down the bridge and there has a great parking spot next to another guy on a bike. He took a picture of me and I took one of him.

So then the real fun started. Pretty soon cars would pull up and folks would get out and they would go right to the RT and asked if they could take a picture with the Spyder. After awhile it was like this was part of the attraction. I would take their pics and then I started taking pictures of them taking pictures of the RT. I figure I could of made about 50 bucks if I charged a buck a pic. BRP would have loved this.

Here's a few of the people that I took pics of, I told them I would post it on the site.

I had a hard time getting out of there so I walked away from the RT and shot this video before I headed to Santa Rosa.

Can't wait for the next adventure and I must say I'm really starting to fall in love with this RT.

That's pretty funny, although not surprising. I was riding mine the other day, pull the RT-622 trailer & had a lady in the lane next to me signal that she wanted to take my picture. I nodded to her & she started taking them. I've found that most anytime I stop for gas (making gas stops too frequently, I might add), people almost always come over and want to learn about it. I carry a bunch of business cards for my dealer and will pass them out. I figure the more successful he is, the better for me too. I gave him 20 clear plastic business card pouches that have adhesive on the back & told him to attach them to the owners manual pouch and fill them with his business card on every Spyder he sells. Seems like a good idea to me...

Alcatraz prison buddy you should take the tour while you are their great pix and video.:2thumbs:

Come on, you enjoyed every bit of that. Isn't it great. :2thumbs:
Great write-up, and beautiful pictures :2thumbs:

*waves at Lamont from her 14th floor office in downtown SF*

You picked a FABULOUS day to visit SF.... the air is so clear and the temperature is awesome. Last week would have been worse, it was cold, nasty, and rainy.

Thanks for the pics! :2thumbs:

Awesome Lamont !!!! Thanks for sharing, great pictures and cool memories... wow the Golden Gate Bridge. I've only see it from the air, flying over on a commercial airline.

That RT is looking pretty good on ya!
Cheers from Newfoundland!

Lamont, I'm so jealous....awesome pics :D

I know it's wreckless, but I have to admit to setting the cruise and slipping to the passanger seat of my RT once myself. Wanted to test the handling at 70 mph :2thumbs:

Corbin Seat

Can you expound on the Corbin seat?
Cost, why it's so comfortable, does the back rest come with it, what about passenger seat, can anyone order one? What do you ask for when ordering, etc.

Thanks!

Great pictures, and a wonderful job of being a Spyder Ambassador as well.

$1 per picture would have been a very cheap souvenier for the most of them, and I bet they would have gladly paid it as well. Perhaps you should think about that next time as a means to continue financing your adventures. :D

Go to the Corbin website and click to the RT section. Anyone can order, and if you call them, they will walk you thru doing a custom seat. I am 6'6" and will need to move back an inch or two, they talked me thru how to figure out the ideal position. They will even custom stitch the seat with you logo or picture for a price. Great people to work with.
