• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gold Plugs - are the torque specs the same as OEM?

I use the ShowChrome plugs for 5 years now and no problem. I also don't feel like I have to tighten them to the nth degree. 15lbs is not that much. I have always used the standard BajaRon washers with no oil leaks. BTW I know this is a losing battle here but the original washers are not crush washers but simple copper washers,as are the replacement washers Ron sends.

The plugs for the 998 don't have the design defect as they do not have the 2 o-rings mid plug. The show chrome plugs for the 998 are fine.

:agree: .... IMHO threaded parts that NEED high torque - you should use a proper torque wrench .... for LOW torque I use a socket and ratchet and after it's hand tight I give the handle a decent TAP and leave it ..... If this is an OIL plug I will put a piece of clean paper under that area and see if it leaks ( usually not ). if it does I will tap it a little harder ...... this method has worked successfully for over 60 years and I have never stripped any threads .... good luck .... Apparently Gold Plug has folded, the phone is disconnected and e-mails etc... go unanswered. Placed an order and funds were paid...crickets
