• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Glove Box insert????

Sure, we can have fun with this when it comes in
Its sitting next to a 50BMG

Alrighty, then! When can I move in? :D

p.s. I don't eat a lot so... don't worry about that. It's the other baggage that should concern you... but then again, who said that? I don't have any baggage!

.

I hate being jealous!!!

But........ I'm talking pea shooters.. and you come up with a cannon, capable of taking out a bad guy over a mile away... Geeze.. This forum is filled with incredible, knowledgable folks with an un--ending cadre of interests and abilities..Len
Note: That really does look like a Barrett

Ya gotta carry it like this and get some strange looks going down the street

Did anyone determine if this is supposed to be included or not? I don't have one.

I asked my dealer and they looked it up. Appears to be an add to the newer units. They ordered one, we were able to find the part number but there was no price listed. Should have it by the end of the week.

The other Scotty

:2thumbs:

My RT came with the insert. It isn't glued in so its a perfect place to put the dummy key in that you have made up to unlock the trunk of the RT where you have your spare key for the ignition. ;) If you happen to lose or misplace your key.

insert

I picked up my 5 speed rt about April 1st of this year and it came with it. Sounds like it was added to the bike at a later date. I have an xm radio inside it.

;)A Kahr PM9 will fit but not much room for anything else.

dont you guys worry about heat? its gets pretty warm in there :yikes:

even with a liner ... not sure I would feel comfortable with live ammo in a gun in the glove box

Mine came out of the crate with one... dealer was surprised as she had heard of them but had never seen one... BTW my 1911 won't fit..

After I purchased my RTS I saw that the one next to mine had one. Thought maybe because the other one was a PE it had one.

PART # FOR INSERT

You can order it from BRP. Part # is 705004426. I had to order mine, it didn't come with my PE 0180

My understanding was that the first PE RTs did not have this, but it was introduced part way through that model run. Your dealer may retrofit your Spyder under warranty, if you complain about the heat. There is more to this than the liner, there are additional insulation panels under the bodywork. I wouldn't mind those, but the glovebox is small enough as it is, so I don't want the inner liner. If PE #150 needs the insulation, I'll buy some.

Just went to my dealer making inquiry on this issue. I did this prior to Frank3's post with part number and Scotty's reply. My dealer had called BRP asking about the insert. BRP was unaware of any insert. I think this is because as Scotty has said, the insert is now standard for the RT-S and wasn't for the early Premier Editions.

Anywho, I'll be following up on this one. I think that key idea is a good one. (as is the one concerning the "Runk".

Not standard on the RTS. According to my and another dealer, they are standard on the RT models only. I have checked many RTS models and they didnt have them , but the RT A/C models did.

Looks like it takes alot of room in there. The box is small as it is. Has anyone who got it after think they lost alot of room? Did it help with the heat? I cut and put a piece of felt from the hobby store just to give it a more finshed look. :ani29:

It helped quite a bit. You do lose some room, but before my phone got way too hot in there. Now I keep it in the rear trunk on longer rydes.
