There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Getting ready for cold weather ryding...

 You've obviously never seen me try to get the driveway cleaned out! :ohyea: :roflblack:

The pitch has been started and her volume never got above "Air-Raid Siren", so I'm pretty hopeful already!

If you don't like them you can send them back to me, as long as you haven't removed any of the tags and they aren't damaged in any way. You pay return shipping but maybe that will help you with the deal.

A buddy at work had a Firstgear suit that his brother-in-law gave him, he let me use it the first morning of the cold blast we have going on right now in NC. These are the cats meow, I was able to buy them from him for 50 bucks and used them today ryding to work, when I left the house it was 13 degrees and by the time I got a couple of blocks away it was 15 degrees on a bank light board. I am not going to say I was toasty warm, but I was comfortable and I should be ok down into the single digits.:2thumbs:

Being that these things are waterpoof, a set of rubbers and some rain gloves and we'd all be in business regardless of what Mother Nature threw our way...
I found their website, but their sizing info was a bit less than helpful... My Missus is a bit on the short (okay... WAY on the short!:roflblack:) side, but she's got a longer than human torso...
Is there some way to try and figure out what I need to buy her that might be a somewhat close fit? (Nothing ever fits right! :cus:)

I ordered mine yesterday. As soon as I get it & the RTS is back up & running, & the roads are in decent shape, I'll give y'all a first hand review. I intend on using my Spyder as a daily driver as long as it's above 32, so we'll see how well this suit works :dontknow: I'm look'n forward to it

Do you get much lake effect snow by you? I'd be guessing here, but I'd imagine that windchill off the lake might be an issue also... Please let us know how it works so that I can point out your postings to my Missus to show her how good these suits are!

Do they come in "jumbos?" Being horizontally challenged, I'd be interested in any gear that comes in 2 or 3XL.

I carry all of the Firstgear line of products. So, of course, I can get their electric gear (jacket/vest/gloves/pants/shocks) as well.

Ummmmmm???

Hey Bob, you may want to check a map, :dontknow:I'm no where near any of the Great Lakes :hun: Cincinnati is on the southern most point of the state & I actually live in Northern Kentucky across the river from downtown Cyncy.

With all that be'n said, we actually did get a dusting 2 days ago from Lake Effect Snow from up north, but that's a rare happening around here. Most our Ohio Valley weather comes from the west.

But we still get bone chilling cold, hasn't been above freezing in the last 4 days :yikes: and plenty of snow, but not usually til Jan/Feb. As long as the roads are mostly clear, Ill be ryding as long as I can keep warm, so I'm hoping this suit works. I'll keep ya updated :chat:

Baja Ron, without being able to try this the Firstgear suit on for size, sizing is confusing. Do you think a woman could wear this suit? I'm 5'4" with a 30" inseam. Wear Firstgear women's XL.

What do you think??

It is tough to size someone over the internet. 30" inseam is long for someone 5'4". These are made large so you can wear them over regular clothing.

It would be best if you could try them on, of course. I can ship them to you and exchange or take them back if they don't fit. You pay shipping though.

For people that are not more or less cookie cutter size sometimes the electric gear is a better (though more expensive) way to go. That way you can custom fit each piece. Many people find all they need are the jacket and gloves. But you can get pants and socks as well.

Some people get away with the vest and go with heated grips for their hands.

There are more than just 1 way to beat the cold.

My question is between the Thermogear and the newer Expedition suit - are they equally warm and waterproof?

I know the Expedition is their latest and greatest but I am not clear if it as warm an oversuit or just a good 4 seasons suit.

Thanks for any reply.

Also, as far as sizing is concerned, there is a good size chart at those odd losers revzilla.com. Also a good video. Good place to shop and buy elsewhere. Like Baja. lol

That Firstgear suit looks like a very nice cold weather solution, at a great price from Ron. Thanks for posting this, I am going to definitely keep it in mind as it seems to be getting much colder here than it normally does.

The Expedition is not as warm as the Thermo. The Thermo is a winter only suit. It has insulation built in.

The Expedition is an outer shell designed to keep rain and wind out. By doing this you will get a good deal of body heat retension but it does not have insulation. It is designed to be worn over insulation. You would not need a bulky jacket but you would need some insulated layering with the Expedition.

Then, as it warms up, the Expedition has a lot of zippered openings to allow you to wear it all year.

Hope this helps.

The Thermosuit is incredible. I went to the local cycle shop and tried one on. The only thing is I look like the Michelin Man in this thing. Of course, that is not really the suit's fault!! :roflblack: :roflblack:

I had to go 2X to get a long enough leg but it fit well. And I can wear my Pressure suit body armor under it. I didn't buy it though. Ron, when I'm ready I'm going to get it from you. But I do like it ALOT!

I've never had a customer that didn't like the Thermo. It's one of those things that people get, use and appreciate.

It's good that you tried one on. That makes my job a piece of cake!
