• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gas Gremlins?

Last 3 times, I got down to 2 bars on the gas gauge, I turn it off and come back later and find the 2 bars gone and the gas light is on. Think the gas gremlin struck or what?
:shocked::shocked: :dontknow::dontknow:

That happens to me too... and I even have a Gremlin bell on the bike... musta got a faulty one LOL. Maybe it's aliens :yikes:

How long did it cool? The engine and cooling system heat the gas in the tank while riding. The gas expands. If the Spyder cools down near the air temp, the gas will have less volume. If this is just after a short stop, it is an artifact of the electronics and gauge sensor, and I would get used to it. It could also be a difference in battery voltage...maximum voltage while charging down the road, and lower voltage after a restart and at idle. On the other hand, I do believe in leprechauns.

It stands overnight. Not a quick stop I've put gas in it and it only takes about 3.5 gallons before the auto shut off on the pump. (read not to overfill). Also have in on a battery tender so voltage should maintain. :dontknow:

Overnight will certainly reduce the volume as it cools. battery tender will not charge battery as high as the generator on the Spyder at substantial rpm. Voltage will always be higher with full battery charge while running. Auto shutoff at the pump will mosty certainly leave a lot of head space in your tank, but will not affect the gauge reading when empty.

The last 3 times I filled the gas tank, when I started the bike back up there were no bars and the gas light was on. The first time it took about 5 minutes for the bars so start building back up to full. The 2nd time it took about 5 minutes to get 2 bars and it stayed that way for about 15 minutes before they came back. This morning (filled up last night) I had no bars the whole way to work (15 minute drive). I hope it changes when I leave. I don't want to drop it off at the dealer but I may have to.

My last fill up I had the gas bar thing happen.:spyder: I reset my trip meter and looked down and it was only showing half a tank. Then it started to rise, I shook the Spyder and got another bar out of it and drove about 1/2 a mile before it showed full. I have no idea why it did that and it is the first time that I know of. :dontknow:

is urs an se5?? must be related to the gear position sensor!:D:D:D

There have been some other reports of this problem. They resulted in either new sending units or replacement dash displays.
