• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garage Door Farkle

For the F3

On our F3 there are two spots that work perfectly for 1/2' switches on the left and right sides of the seat support. On one side I have the manual switch for the led lighting and the other has a momentary switch for the garage door opener. On the right side of the bike is a connector with 12V. I used a universal garage door opener and soldered wires to the momentary switch for operation and wires to the controller battery terminals to attached to the bikes 12V connector. Easy access and no batteries to worry about.

I'm low tech. I put a spare garage door opener inside the glove box, just laying there. Just open the box and push the button. Cost --- $0 ... Installation cost - $0

I did mine, velcroed it to the bottom edge of glove box with button upward. With the incidentals I carry in glove box and a gloved hand there's no fumbling for the button.

I installed A Flash2Pass unit on my RT, wired into headlight circuit and flash lights to open, works great
www.f2ptechnologies.com
good luck
Are they still in business? Every Buy Now button ends up at a cannot be found page as do several of the other links at the top of the home page.

From what I can see and find I think they are totally defunct.

I did something similar. Easy, cheap and you can readily access the remote opener to change the battery, rather than strip off body panels.

Tank bag

I have an 08 GS, and keep my spare opener in the right zippered pocket of my tank bag. Easy enough to move hand off throttle and hit opener. Knowing me, if I installed one in my dash, I would be tempted to hit it while moving and try and time my entries into the garage..just right..lol

I do that! :D
But it's even more fun; when you have to open up the glovebox, hit the button, and then get it closed before having to turn the handlebars! :yikes:

me too . I like bobs idea but mine don't have the foam insert. I just pop the glove box and hit the button.

My wife and i went the non-tech. route and just velcroed our car visor remotes to the dash of our RT's,we put velcro on the back of remote and under the top of gauge overhang,it's protected from the rain(at lest so far) as the rain would have to splash up. in about 5yrs and 4 :ani29:'s we have never had a problem(except batt going dead)

Exactly what I did. Had a spare remote so it worked out fine.

There were folks removing these inserts a while back; perhaps an inquiry, might get you one.
EDIT: If I can read the parts catalog correctly...
Under "Body & Accessories, Console",
Part #104
They list "Internal Foam"
It retails for $42.99

A check on Amazon "flash 2 pass" shows a complete setup for $96.35 Scroll down to see the 3 unit/cost breakdown and some reviews...

Must be leftover stock. The owner of F2P Technologies is Chris de Janasz. The last entry on his FB page is July 25, 2014. There are a couple of public records listings for him in VA, one for EXP (expired?) INSPECTION, 1/21/2015, and another for Contempt of Court, 7/2/2015.

He created an app, Tap2Pass, to open garage doors. The last update on Google Play is October 2012. He launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $100,000 to come out with Tap2Pass 2.0 in May 2013. It was canceled in June 2013 with only $2213 raised. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1726760797/tap2pass-20-smartphone-garage-door-opener.

I cannot find any current information on de Janasz or F2P Technologies. He is (was) located in Staunton, VA. Flash2Pass may have been a good product but if you buy one be aware it looks like you are entirely on your own if you have a problem with it.
