• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

FYI- New filters and Maintenance Schedule for ALL Spyders

What gives??!?!

No one has asked the obvious question here...

How does this effect Bajaron!!!

I didnt even know dealers sold filters ;)

To get the free new cover, we will have to buy one filter from our dealer.

BAJA, this will force a change on your filters and your customers will have to inform you what filter housing cover they have.

I wonder how long it will take all the dealers to get the new parts?

Seems like if they have them stocked up, they don't have a whole lot of reason to switch.

One of my dealers has received a stock of the new filters and HCM covers already. If you buy the new HCM filter, the first time you will also be supplied the new cover. This arrangement applies until May 2013.

I plan on picking up the new HCM filter and cover the next time I pass by the dealer. In the meantime I will use up my stock of old filters.

Did they mention any kind of price change?

Just curious.

With a 2012, it should be standard now, right? Last time I changed it, it does look like the 35mm cap for the HCM.

My dealer says:

"They will be superceding the old numbers to the new ones so the new style will be the only ones we will be stocking."

Thanks for the update Lamonster. The HMC larger filter is a good idea. With a good full synthetic oil, are they really needed? When I use up my supply of filters that I got from BajaRon, I hope he will have the new HMC filters in stock. That's IMHO.

Mike

Theres Nothing Wrong with using up our old filters :yikes:-- Its just that with the New Updated versions you will have
"BRP,s Blessing ?" to go 4,600 miles between changes.:ohyea::bowdown:

Ha! Wouldn't you know it. I had my 3,000 mile service last Friday. I looked on the invoice and old part numbers. Oh, well. :banghead:

Was at the dealer today to get the break pin installed, they didn't mention this but then again they didn't know about the pin recall either. Thanks for the heads up Lamont.

I'm getting my 600 mile service done this weekend. The dealer says they don't have the new filters yet, so I'll be using the obsolete one at least for this service interval. :sour: At least the "obsolete" filter still works. Thanks for the info Lamonte.

New Filter Notification

Thanks for the info. How or where does a person find out this info? Does BRP send it out to everyone?

Valve Adj Requirements

Service 2012-11
There is a new Maintenance Schedule that was just released for all Spyders that change the valve inspection time from 10,000 miles to 14,000 miles.

The old spec was first at 6K miles and then every 12k thereafter (or 10,000km and 20,000km respectively). Not sure where you're coming from on the 10K and 14k mile numbers. Can you clarify? Thanks.
