There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. A while back someone asked how much the 6,000 mile check up would cost. I finally got around to getting an estimate. Their manuel (my local dealership's Can Am manuel) recommends checkup around 6,250 miles, estimates 2 hrs in work and about $100 in parts, totaling $300 (+/-). Good to know! :yikes:

Not bad. Coming from owning a boat where EVERY little checkup seemed to start at $1000 USD, $300 is a welcome relief :-D

Sounds like hes pretty reasonable
I just picked up mine from its initial 600 mile check, and it would have cost $270 total if I hadnt bought the service contract for 3 years. If each 300 mile svc costs around that, Im gonna take em to the cleaners for what I paid.

This includes the checking/adjusting valves?

John,

You might want to double check the contract. I thought I read somewhere that "yearly" maintenance is covered. I originally thought "scheduled" maint. as well. I'll look again and let you know If and where I find it spelled out.

I believe our Best Plus covered the 625 maintenance and yearly checks for the next three years. I believe that is just hooking up to their computer, getting the data from the Spyder and probably downloading any updates to the Spyder. I don't think it covers anything to do with oil changes for those three years or the valve check / adjustment. I would certainly like to find out that I'm wrong about that.

I Have a 3 years service contract for my Spyder which include 6 services thats including everything from oil change to valve adjustment.

answer to Rokonman...

This includes the checking/adjusting valves?

I looked up the list in our owner's manuel and checking/adjusting valves does not seem to be apart of the requirement. However, if there are any recalls or manufacturer's advisements out they will take care of them at that time. They should be able to pull something off the computer is there is any problems with the engine. My Hindle pipe, and some other stuff came in today and I will put the pipe on before taking it in. This way they can verify the "mapping" is okay and make any adjustments.

Many of the items listed for periodic maintemance are I for "inspesction". I was told that is what the "PLUS" covers and any parts or service resulting from that covered inspection may not be part of the deal unless they are due to warranty claims.
