• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fusebox Covers

Question: Is there a trick to getting these covers (the outer ones) to lock into place?
I know that if they're loose: you'll get a Frunkful of water for your trouble...
They SEEM to have clicked into place; what (if anything) should I be looking for?
Thanks!

Push....hard...

Much like the gas caps on the F3's you need to strong arm a bit. I find that if you make sure your groove and lip are lined up before you start to push it is a lot easier. Holding the alignment and getting the lower clipped the the upper also helps. And yet I find not all are cooperative. This is the same on almost all the fuse boxes on motorcycles...They should wing-nut them on...:lecturef_smilie:

Thanks, Gene!
Since I only fool with them about twice a year: I figure that it's best to double-check what I do... nojoke
After all: I don't need a portable "frog pond"; taking over the frunk!

I find that squeezing the sides of the covers - like you do to take them off - makes it somewhat easier to get them back on. Still, they are a PITA.

Dont know if it helps, but I usually spray a light coat of silicone lube spray

around the foam gasket surface. It may help it slide into place and only downside I see is the slight amount of dirt it might attract.

Make sure they're right side up. If you tip the cover and insert the top, or is bottom, I don't remember, first the other side will then snap into place fairly easy. If you try to make it fit the way it doesn't want to fit, you will get very frustrated.

:D Misery sure loves company; doesn't it? :D

There's probably a dozen more folks in here with the same question; they were too afraid to ask it! nojoke
