• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fuel vapors finally gone!

The dealer finally fixed the fuel vapor issue. I had the recall work done last July and vapors continued. I called the dealer and they said, I don't know what to tell you, I don't know much about Spyders! What kind of answer is that? So I waited over the winter, and called BRP in March. I brought the bike back for a service and demanded they solve this boiling fuel issue. I was told it was a software update. But when I read the invoice it said the computer was remapped as per recall specs. So, that just means they didn't do a damn thing regarding remapping the computer when the bike was originally brought in for recall work! And they kept it more than a week! Well, regardless. It seems to be fixed. No more fuel vapor orries in the garage! Now I can enjoy the Spyder RTS! This is an awsome machine!

Bummer...

Sorry it went down that way but glad that in the end they found the problem. There were many causes for the odors and possibly at the time they fist checked you machine they were not onto the computer issue. But you are set now and can enjoy your ryde without the aroma....

I'm glad you finally got th problem resolved. However, if you are correct about the dealer not doing the ECM reprogramming at the time of the recall, there is no excuse for that, as it was a MAJOR part of the recall and easily identified as such in the instructions. The recall instructions were divided into three sections... (1) The installation of the air scoops; (2) the redesigning of the fuel system from a return system to a returnless system; and (3) the reprogramming of the ECM to accommodate the changes in #2.

I sure hope you have a more competent dealer available to you in your area for future repairs.
