There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Front wheel tie down

I thought I remembered someone talking about an over the wheel style tie down for the front wheel of the spyder that they had used. I know there is not much clearance between the wheel and fender, but would prefer to use this method if it was available. So I was hoping someone might be able to post a link or product name?
Otherwise I'm planning to go through the rim to a forward location on the etrack with a ratchet tie down.

Thanks in in adavance for the info.

Blueknight911 is the fella you want to talk to!! He's the bloke who has set up a few others with 'over the tire' tie downs that only touch the rubber & work brilliantly!

Rear tire I think

From what I remember mike, uses a rear tire strap setup only. I'm looking to do a front tire setup if I can find one.

If I have it Incorrect hopefully he will chime in.

Brentc,

Yes, mike(blueknight911) did use the "rear tire strap" setup on the first spyder ( 2012RTS-SE5 )that I had, and it worked fantastic.

The strap that he used went in the center of the tire (underneath the spyder,) the strap did not touch any of the tupperware.

My spyder did not move because mike( Blueknight911) used the "rear strap method". Deanna

.Brent - I would buy these from E-bay - use the free ship option ...... But first google DiscountRamps - just to see their product line ..... look at the " Cargo Control section " they have dozens of choices in very high strength Commercial Grade straps .... Look at them all ..... Then go to E-bay and buy it - it's a lot cheaper that way ...... And yes I only use one STRAP on the rear tire, but I do block the front tires front, rear, & outside ..... I've had TWO Accidents and neither Spyder moved ...... good hunting

These are the ones from etrailer, the rubber blocks pop right off. It's a little tight getting them between the fender and tire but not a big problem unless you have bear paws for hands.

BLOCKS

Thank you you for the photos, just what I was wondering. My one question would be if you have ever had any issue with them slipping off front tires without the rubber blocks?
Brent, during my two accidents ..... I didn't have any of those " HOLDING TYPE " blocks on the straps. When the straps are placed in the middle of the tire and you ratchet down some pressure you couldn't move the straps even with a pry bar. If your still nervous just let about 5 lbs of air from the tire and watch how the strap depresses the center ...... Mike

Really no reason to go out and buy anything other than 3 tie down ratchet straps and some rings to mount to the trailer deck. Mount two rings at each wheel, one directly in front and one directly in back. Then simply put the ratchet straps over the tires and crank em down. Cheap, easy and fast.

I just use 1 1/2" ratchet straps hooked to tie down loops mounted to the bed of the trailer. Had no problem with the straps slipping or the Spyder moving. Hauled cross country three times.

The OP already has a track system and was looking for straps ..... the place I sent Him to ( Discount Ramps ) has dozens and they include the type that will fit into His system ....... and they were 1/2 the price of ....e - trailer .... for the same or better quality ........ But if someone is starting from scratch I would go with what you did ............ Mike

The blocks are not needed for this application and I don't think you could fit them between the fender and wheel anyway. I crank the straps down pretty tight and have not seen them move yet.
