FRONT Tire size for a 2013 RT

Wow Highwayman I like them. We used to use something like that in our Tractor Trailer tires. Im guessing the plastic bottle is to squirt them in through the valve stem?:doorag:
Just ordered a kit with 2 - 2oz bags from ebay for $8.99 including shipping. Thanks again Highwayman for the suggestion!:doorag:

The only problem with those is when you first start out the balance will be out as the beads settle some. Sorta like flat spotting a tire on a Corvette from sitting too long. It will go away within a few miles.

I went with the Ride On sealant / balancer and based on the short ride I took this morning I am pleased.. I went with the Federal EVO fronts as they are factory spec width wise and would not be interested in taller or narrower tire.. I will state absolutely that the handling is improved by the stiffer sidewall of the car tires,,, I thought the factory tires were crap from the beginning and I had at least 3,000 mi left on my stock rear ,, who knows how much left on the fronts... I thought the stock tires had a tendency to climb on top of the water in a heavy rain and I feel confident that too will be resolved with the new tires.. I will have that last piece of the puzzle the next rain storm :)

Good Ride Today!

Tested out the Kumho's today for about 140 miles. Half Interstate and half slower side roads. Without balancing yet the ride was very nice with little or no vibration. The Kumho's ride quieter, I think, than the Kenda's. This was two up riding today and they handled great! Right now I am at 26 psi and may lower it a hair to 24 psi and try that pressure for a while. Fuel mileage may even be a little better. I will know more about that when I fill up again.:doorag:

Seriously go down to 20 and report back. That seems to be the magic number. Even 22 would be better than 24. You do not want to overwork the front suspension those bushings are weak.

I'll try the 22 psi and see what happens. Hey I just noticed you have the LED's across the A frames like I do. They do offer a little more visibility IMHO. I just put a Real nice strip between the trunk lid and base. Super bright brake light and directionals. Also does about 20 different patterns (but they are more for fun and when sitting still someplace). Used the 12v socket in the trunk and wired right into the brake lights and turn signals. Has a remote to turn on/off and also for the patterns as well. I'll put a video up of it as soon as I get a chance.:doorag:

Just filled up Great Mileage

at my local gas station. 33.56 mpg with the new Kumho's. That is up about 1.5 mpg from 32 which I have been getting with the Cannon Exhaust and the Cannon Cat Replacement Y pipe. Not too shabby. That was riding 2 up and we are not little people. When I first got the RT I was running in the 28-30 mpg range, so I'm happy! More Power, More Low end Torque, better gas mileage and a smoother ride. Anyone interested in the Cannon stuff PM me.

VIABLE ALTERNATIVE

Mike,
What do you think of them? :dontknow:
Are they a viable alternative to the Kenda?
How's the ride, traction, and treadwear looking for them?

I like the federals ........and a wood spoke wheel would be a viable alternative to the KENDA................and the new ARACNID .....Well apparently they modeled their tire after the only MTC tire authorized for the Spyder namely the KENDA .so their specs are pretty much the same....ie -2 ply tire ........Well LaMont tried them and doesn't plan to get any more ..................nuff said

My spyder feels so much more planted then w the Kendas / I'm glad I switched them out early :)

Mike,P...
Have you swapped-out your Anti-SwayBar, or changed shocks yet? :dontknow:

I installed the Ron Bar early on and was contemplating shocks /might do them this winter.. I can honestly say that if I went to the 1330 before I made ANY other modifications I would change the tires FIRST!! You could sell the stock ones for more money and the new tires are four times better at least..

CHANGES

Mike,P...

:gaah:....Not yet on the SWAY BAR and that's gonna depend on what I find out from moving the angle of the FRONT SHOCKS ( ie.increase it ) to something similar to what I did with the RSS and GS..........However I won't be going to change it that dramatically initially.............Possibly 15 degree's ...........we'll see what shakes out .... :2excited: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::agree:..........Mikeguyver

Added the balancing beads roday

After about a mile or a little less, The RT fronts were even smoother riding than without any weights. Lowered the psi to 22. Nice smooth comfortable ride! The last day of school was today so now let the daily riding begin! The Kumho's so far are a great ride.:doorag:

2014...

Even with a little bit less width; they look as if they're filling that rim up nicely!
Now all that we need, are some "Reports From The Saddle" about their handling! :2thumbs:

Bob, those pics are of a 2013 or older with this Kumho mounted.....will it work with a 2014???? what with the closeness of the fenders????

Anybody mounted them up on a 2014 RT-L???

Thanks,
