• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front sprocket cost R and R???

How much do dealers charge to replace the front sprocket on an F-3??????
On a recent Battle Born Spyders day ryde a member had her front sprocket fail. Job cost her over $600:yikes::yikes: These things must be made of cheeze. But she is smart and had AAA do the tow.
4 hours labor seems excessive and the dealer should of had one or two ( they take up sooooo much room) in stock.

I just did and R&R for preventative maintenance. This was my first time doing that, so I was being methodical (aka slow) yet it took but a half hour. An RT will take longer to R&R panels, but never 4 hours. That's another reason I do my own wrenching.
The pulley costs about $100 and the bolt is under $11. She got had.

Some dealer's charges are usury. My local dealer quoted $381 to swap handlebars on my 2020RT -- that's about $1000 per hour.

The (unverified) part number for the new 'whistle reducing' pulley is #219800509, provided by mrwog.

Is the pulley as much of an issue on the older RS models? I still am bopping around on a '10. It seems it is new models, but that may just because most on here have moved on beyond the RS.

NO .... since 2012 ( my finding this site ) I have read almost all the posts/ threads here and to my recollection there have very, very few reports for the V-twins ( can't remember any ) ..... this issue first arose with the F-3's ...... I have 56,000+ mi. on my RT and so far all OK ..... good luck .... Mike
