Ordered a ISCI fronthandbrake for the RT, today. Not an easy process - ordering. ("out of stock" - "Will call you back" etc. ) but its ordered and upon installation - will let ya all know 'howit went'.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tap the brake, disengage cruise control.

......but you can just tap the foot brake to disengage cruise control, Ron. You don’t need a hand operated brake to do that.

opcorn:'ing to hear how it goes...am curious about if it is as they say and it basically operates the foot brake. If so it should cancel the cruise...:thumbup:Bob Denman

It definitely disconrcts the cruise and you are correct in that it operates the foot brake. Had mine on my 2010 RT for about 6 years now. Installed it myself and took me probably about 12 hours of work but it was the first time I had done something like that on the bike and it took me awhile to get the panels off. I also made a few mistakes due to my lack of knowledge that slowed me down. Whatever you do plug any of the bolt/tool/washer eating hole around the handlebars with a rag. I was like who would be clumsy enough to drop something in there right before I dropped the crush washer in there never to be seen again. Had to call ISCI and they graciously sent me knew one for free. Actually they sent me two. It’s like they know me.
Anyhow probably best farkle I have ever added. Use it all the time. Rarely use the foot brake.

Coming from 30 years on two wheels, 10 or so with cruise control, i just found it convenient to lightly grap the front brake to cancel the cruise for what ever reasons.
That said, I wish Spyders (well my `15 RT anyway) lol had a front brake lever that actuated front brakes only with the foot brake grabbing them all.
“Tapping” the foot brake to cancel the cruise results in a dramatic slow down, yayaya roll on the throttle while tapping, I suppose a wishful front brake lever would show the same results...any love the conversations, stay out of the ditches

Pulling in the clutch will have the same effect..... as will hitting the CC cancel.....

Please keep us updated after the install. I'm curious if the pull is like that of a standard front brake handle. I was at the Spyder In The Hills rally in TX and someone said it has a hard pull.

You're not going to see that one happen.. all the computers would have quite the hissy fit....
I like the integrated braking....
What I don’t understand is why why it costs so much? Considering that it is basically a bracket with an independent self contained brake assembly and doesn’t interact in anyway with the actual system other than pressing the brake lever.

Definetly a harder pull. Completely different feeling than a normal hand
brake on a bike. When I first got it I didn’t feel like it stopped me fast enough but now that I am used to it I use it almost exclusively. I will say there is no way you can apply the pressure to the brake with your hand that you can with your foot and in an emergency I have been know to grab the hand brake and slam the foot brake at the same time. Hand part was probably useless in that situation and just done out of reflex. All in all probably the best of several farkles I have added.

I've spoken to the great guys at ISCI about the cost of the handbrake and much of it comes down to liability insurance.
Once one of their handbrakes is on a Spyder, they're on the hook if that owner, the next owner.. or the next one ever has an brake failure accident.
They have to carry insurance for the projected life of that handbrake kit.
I believe them when they say it's very expensive insurance.
