:agree: Go back and read the threads on front end vibration. Almost every case is resolved with tire replacement. I replaced my tires at 5500 miles. That was 6000 miles ago and have had no vibration since.
:agree:, I've had my '12 RTS since May and right off the show room floor it had that vibration up front. I read the various threads on vibration issues and in each case where the person replaced the front tires it cured the issue. I also read time and again about how people had their alignment redone and tire re-balanced and still not finding satisfaction. One of my buddies had his tires replaced recently and was raving about how much of a difference it was to the positive.
This past week I set up an appointment and went to my dealer at Central Fla. Power Sports. The ride there from my house is 109 miles. I had just over 1500 miles on my RTS and already could not stand the bad vibes. They installed per my request 2 Bridgestone Potenza 165 65 14 tires at $105.00 each mounted and balanced. A total of $360.00. Not too sure if that was a good price though I think the tire price was fine itself. Well all I can say is that to me, it was money well spent because on the return home ride, the bike rode FANTASTICALLY!
The vibrations were gone. The fenders stopped dancing at between 40-50 mph, the handle bars weren't shaking out of my hands and my hands didn't go numb in the process. The bike tracked in a nice straight line even when I would take my hands off of the bars for a few seconds. The only changes to the front end when I got the bike was to crank the shocks up to their highest setting and add the BajaRon Sway bar. Now the new tires were added without all the BS re-aligning or re-balance money and time waste and WhaaaLaaa.... Problem solved.
I cannot be happier with the way it rides now. Since the tires went on, I've ridden almost 400 miles and all 400 have been Smoooooth and now since my wife took a ride on it, she's all fired up about getting them put onto her RT Lmt so I'll be setting up and appointment to have hers done along with the rear tire that's ready to be replaced at just shy of 13,000 miles? :dontknow:
:lecturef_smilie:I can't believe that BRP doesn't just change the tire supplier to another brand and drop those crappy KENDAS. I also think that it's a shame that we have to go out and solve all these issues ourselves and at our expense. We (The Customers) should NOT be having to do all the R&D on these machines yet that's exactly what we end up doing all the while trying to stay positive and promote these machines (though I do like talking about them when asked by people in my travels)
BTW, my dealers service dept is a Top shelf operation. and the dealership as a whole is as well so those in and around the Kissimmee Fl area should give them a try.
