For tying down on a trailer

I have a pair of SpyderClamps to carry my F3T on a trailer. But they don't make them any more. I ran across these (below) in a motorcycle magazine's ad section. If I was needing something like SpyderClamps now, I'd go for these:

and ONLY $ 168 .95 .......EACH , plus the thing for the rear wheel - so this set-up is $ 466.00 +/- and you have the tie-downs yet ..... MY wheel chocks were made from scrap wood and a $10.00 heavy duty Rachet strap ....You can see mine on my Album page ....... Thanks Patti , but I'll pass on this...... Mike :thumbup:

Good to know....

Look very nice and quality work but pricy.. but if you can't make them it is a very nice addition to your trailer and will up the value to any one interested in a spyder ready trailer...:thumbup::thumbup:

Interesting, but do they work any better than $30 ratchet straps over the tires? Yikes

get couple pieces of channel bend 90 degrees drill a couple holes to mount to the floor whala cheap fix

I agree with Mike. I used some scrap 4X4's and an old wheel chock I had laying around, although I did spend more than $10 for straps. Towed the Spyder from South Carolina to Texas and back with a couple of sudden stops. No problems.

My wife and I drove to New York to pick up our Spyder and brought it home on a utility trailer. I tied it down just as described in the Spyder manual. I also had four 2x4's about a foot long that I placed on the out side edge of each front tire and on both sides of the back tire. I screwed them to the deck with some heavy deck screws, not lag bolts, with my drill. Our Spyder made the 1000+ mile trip home without so much as a hiccup.

May not be as fancy as the ones shown but I saved enough to pay for our first year of insurance by not buying something like those!:yes:
