• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For all the cops out there and others that have lost their mind performing this task.

I witnessed a minor accident a few years ago when a car cut in front of a semi truck in heavy traffic and got tagged by the truck's chrome bumper, not much damage, but and ugly huge gouge in the driver's side door of the car. I helped the truck's driver by blocking of a lane so he and the car could get out of traffic into the far right lane, and had to get out and motion for people to go around... Most of them would just sit there and get a "duhhhh" look on their faces, I had to scream at them to go around, what I really wanted to do to some of them was slap the you-know-what out of them.... Luckily a couple of troopers came by and they took over. It's unbelievable the level of stupidity I see out here on the road these days.

Cop directing traffic. Intersection of two four lane streets, each with a left turn lane. The driver of a 4 door sedan sees the cop and panics. Slams on the brakes, and slides sideways into the intersection. Smoke, squealing tires, noise, honking....

Turns out the car was stolen and the driver of the stolen car had two prostitutes as passengers. If he had merely stopped for the traffic officer, he would have gotten away....probably.

You are right..!!

that is one job I would avoid...I have watched at a distance and there is a lot of stupidity going on when man controls traffic. Leave it to the machines when possible...!! :lecturef_smilie:

The worst weekend of the year comes about a month after Thunder Beach and its the Ironman Race. To avoid it going to the store I took my street and coming to the end found myself in the middle of the running part of the race. Traffic comes to a standstill with runners going in both directions crossing Thomas Dr., along the beach at two locations and when the cop waves you forward he wants you right next to him/her and when they says go, I get on it. One morning I went to Walmart after midnight and some were still trying to run and saw one guy crawl across the street to get to the finish line and after seeing that I had to applaud and yell to him, to not give up.

Kudos to the cops who get out there and direct traffic when the need arises . . . it has to be similar to herding cats, however, as people really drive like idiots, today!

27 yrs of it with some of the most obnoxious "it's all about ME" drivers in the world......CT. One time I was directing ppl in the crosswalk, holding up traffic, when a pickup kept nudging me in the back. I turned and pounded my fist on his hood, denting it. He put a claim in to the state, even tho I was supported by my LT and Commissioner, some wussy State's Attorney demanded he be paid AND Nollied the Reckless Driving Charge I gave him for no concern for other lives. SMH

Be safe.

Wow. You should have called an ambulance for him hitting you and had the guy arrested for striking an officer. Putting your life in danger and that idiot gets a walk? I'm sure that you will back up the State Attorney if he ever needs your help, since he had your back for that problem.

Most people are SHEEPEOPLE - I love the way people finally see the speed trap in the median of a highway, in a 65 zone, they are doing 65 or lower AND JAM THE BRAKES ON. WTF!?!?!? :banghead: Really? Those speed traps are made to do one thing - catch you speeding before you see the police car - slamming the brakes will only give the officer more incentive to come after you because you had to be doing something wrong because you slammed the brakes on.

Sorry. That is such a pet peeve of mine - one of many. :gaah:
