• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I recently learned you could plug in a thumb drive in the USB port on my '16 F3 L and it would play the songs. You don't have all the controls, but it will play the songs.

I have used four different flash drives in mine and only had that message when I plugged in a very old one into the USB connector in the trunk. You should try a different manufacturer?

It has to be formatted in a certain way, but I don't know what the trick is. Joe could say.

30 GB??? (30 gb is not a correct size) be sure it is properly formatted and that the songs are mp3 compliant

Thanks so much for the information. Are you saying that 30gb is too large. Any idea what format it should have. According to the manual it states that the USB will play FLAC and many other formats. I wanted use a large portable usb hard drive for my music but thought I would try the flash drive first.

Appreciate your help

I do not know what the radio supports as far as format of the stick. But I am going to wager it does not support a stick formatted NTFS as that requires a license from Microsoft to support.
My bet is the stick needs to be formatted FAT32.

Plug it in your PC and see what it is currently formatted as.

And 30GB could be correct. It maybe labeled as 32GB but after formatting you always loose some space.

16 gig

I know my 16 gig USB worked right out of the package. I only have MP3's on it. Every once in awhile I get the "Over current Devise" error, either re-start the bike, or remove and replace the USB. My latest issue is that I had the Sena SM10 (BRP version) installed at the dealer, and now my USB intermittently says "no device". I am sure it's a loose wire, and am taking it back to have them look at it.

Flash Drive Problems

Thanks everyone for all the help on this. Once the drive was formatted Fat32 it works like a charm.
Now I don't have to use Iphone or Ipod for music source.
