• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fixed my GPS today

:agree:BUT...I'm not to that point YET.......
the Iway 600 will lead ya on several loop-d-loops around the block to get ya to a straight forward address....
The sound system radio freq does not work through the stereo system. Good news is... ya don;t wanna hear turn by turn, while the program is leading ya around in circles near your destination..:dontknow:... but the music I have downloaded to it will not play either....
It does show me where I am a given time.... the rest I can figure out....
Yep pretty over rated for what ya really get....:lecturef_smilie:

No GPS required go whichever way your instinct tells you. they did not have them in covered wagons. besides you will never know what you might discover? :2thumbs:

Hey, mr. glue... sorry I missed your shindig. Has FB bought her Spyder yet?

When I travel to Ireland some of my best times are when my GPS goes blank and I just go by SOP ("seat o' the pants") navigation

Garmin is the way to go, I now have had 8 Garmin all of them worked very well with never a problem. Why I have had so many, well I keep buying new ones and I would give the older ones away but I still have my trusted 2610 that I got way way back in 2003 when it first came out and will keep this one till it dies. I just got a Nuvi 750 to use on the spyder the 2610 does not fit right on Spyder. Yes it's not waterproof that is why there are ziplock bags, to me spending $200 is sure better than $600 and hey by time it get wet and dies it will be time for a new model anyway.

Lamont,
If I had known that you were gonna do that, I would have taken it off your hands... I bet it needs a new firmware update or an internal solder point (cold joint) loosened up.

I love fixing stuff like than. I took apart my first radio at age 5.:D

I'll bet he'll sell it to you cheap.

lamonster, what do you mean you "would have been a good customer"? :hun: I think they would consider you a great customer for putting up with ten defective iWay 500s and going through six defective iWay 600s. After the first defective unit that I had to cover on my own dime, I would have gone on to another brand. Thats why you got to be a welder 'cover model'. :D

Looks like Garmin reads our boards. :doorag: :2thumbs:

Dear “Lamonster:”

I’m on Garmin’s Corporate Communications team, and I saw your post and video on spyderlovers.com. I’m sorry you’ve been having difficulties with your GPS, and on behalf of Garmin, we Welcome you as a customer!

If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know. If you’d like, please send me your shipping address and I’ll send you a small token of our appreciation.

Welcome to the Garmin team!

Well, Garmin, if you are reading this forum, welcome. That was a very classy thing you did for Lamont. If I didn't already have a "different" GPS, I would be saving my pennies for your new 660. My husband has the 450 and it seems a bit more reliable than my GPS. Who knows, with enough overtime and if Brian keeps his job, anything is possible. Regardless, Garmin, you are a class act.

As a matter of fact, Jeuchler has given me the nickname "Garmin" after my outstanding ability to play tour guide in Niagara Falls. Just ask about the back allies and interesting turns we took getting back to our hotel. I could have used a Garmin or any GPS for that matter but I decided to go by the seat of my pants. Brian and his Garmin soon took the lead. LOL

FINALLY !!!

:2thumbs:

Finally! Justice is done! All those miles of Frustration and never knowing when that thing would give you a fit. I could always tell when your I-Way acted up. You'd slow down to less than 3 digits and be poking the screen for all you were worth.

You changed I-Way units more than I changed underwear (ok, so I should change my underwear more often) :joke:

Good thing you wear a helmet or you'd be pulling your hair out!

Too bad Lowrance never got it right. That was a killer screen. But it ain't killer when it ain't working.

Hope the Garmin makes you happy...
