• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally got the ok form the doc to start walking. I had my left ankle fused on November 18th, and couldnt put any weight on my foot until today.
After 12 weeks of watching tv and surfin the web, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Should be walking normally in a few weeks:D

Great news..!!

so glad to hear you are so close to full recovery. Sounds like a long road but you have done well. Hope this site kept you entertained and busy a bit. Don't overdo it and be safe....:thumbup:

:congrats: :yes::ohyea::yes: :2thumbs:
Is your bike an "ESSIE", or an "ESSEM"?
If it's the latter; here's to hoping that you'll be able to shift it normally!

I feel your pain!

On Holloween day, 2012, I had my right ankle replaced with a new plastic and titanium ankle. I had the option for fusing but I thought that wasn't for me. As soon as I recovered, I sold my Harley and bought a Spyder. Best surgery I've ever had!!! Love my Spyder!

Well as you know im spyderless at the moment, but mamma did mention it would be nice to get a RT for some weekend trips. Prob wont be this yr, but it will most likely be a SM.

Come to think about it, I should have had her repete what she said so I could record it for future discussions. :banghead:

I shoud probably update my profile, but I like the memories. After all, I'm one of the original "gawkers"..:roflblack:

I would DEFINITELY get her on record, as surpporting the idea of a purchase!! :2thumbs:
And tell her that she's a keeper; and not just for saying that either!! :D

My surgen didnt recomend replacement for me. My ankle was so messed up from being hit by a car when I was 13 that fusion was the only option. Although I was originally thinking of replacement when I went for my consult. Glad to hear it's working out well for ya. :2thumbs:

Definitely a keeper. She been a trooper taking care of everything that I normally do. The outdoor woodstove has been a challange for her, but if she wanted to keep warm it needed to be fed:roflblack:

Congrats on getting through the last 12 weeks! Must have been a bear...

Now that you can put weight of foot, to get you back Spydering faster, what about putting a heel-toe shifter on?

My 09 RS was a SM, and with only 10% of movement im my left foot at that time, I basically had 2 lift my leg to upshift. Never had a issue so im sure when its time to purchase the next spyder I'll be ok with a SM. I'll be sure to check both out though.

great news mowin!!! now tell me that you didn't have her cutting and splitting that wood too!!!:roflblack::roflblack:

I had a similar experience last year, but I had a wrist fused, the wife was really happy when I could get back to filling the woodstove.

I would imagine that was a painfull surgery, I know mine was, I had a heart attack and five by-passes and that was nothing compared to the fusion.
good luck with the healing, takes a while, but worth it in time.
