• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finally!!!

After severe anxiety and impatience, my wait is over! I ordered on 5 Aug and received my silver SM5 on 4 Nov. The wait was terrible, but totally worth it. I, as of yesterday, have 170 miles racked up and enjoy it immensely. Of course, after I received it, our weather in Kansas City turned cold, but it was nothing that a few new cold weather items couldn't cure. I ended up purchasing Fieldsheer pants and a jacket that work great. I was frozen before I got those items, but afterward am as warm as could be. I can't wait to log many more fun-filled miles.

welcome:congrats:
I had the cold weather gear before mine even arrived.
You just know you can't stop riding just because there's a slight chill in the air :D

Those big radiators that are a problem in the heat of summer are just great for keeping the toes toasty warm :2thumbs:

:congrats::clap::2thumbs: Glad to know you're lovin' your ryde. And don't forget even when it gets colder there's always heated gear. For $160 you can get ready-to-plug-in heated jackets that will keep you toasty warm in the coldest weather. Another $135-$150 will get you add-on gloves and you're good to go for all winter except on those icy or really snowy days. (Also a reminder that you can check the "for sale" sites of other touring forums (ADVrider.com flea market for example) has lots of gently used heated clothes for sale most all the time - can find some great deals.

Good tip on the heated gear. I think I've reached my spending limit for a while though. My wife will have me sleeping in the garage in all my heated gear if I go that far!:yikes: We'll have to see if my attitude changes once it gets cooler. I rode the other morning when the temps were in the low 30s and I was plenty warm. My face was the only thing that got a little chilly. I have a Shark RSR2 and though the face shield does not fog up with all the vents closed, my glasses do. I'll have to find a way to keep my eye glasses from fogging, or get a balaclava that goes all the way over my head. Minor detail... not too many brain cells to damage at this point anyway. :joke: Anyway; thanks for all the congratulatory messages everyone!

A balaclava is a must for this cold weather, but it won't keep the glasses from fogging. If I knew that secret, I'd share it in an instant. On the plus side the digital speed readout is large enough to make out without my glasses if I get desperate.
