• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

finally heard from the nanny on the F3

I went to one of the Colorado Spyder Ryder meetups a week (or 2?) ago and people were quizzing me on why I liked the F3 vs my old RTL. One thing I kept saying was that I hadn't heard from the nanny yet unlike on the RT. I'm a pretty aggressive driver in the twisties and as much as I loved all the bells and whistles of the limted, it's not really set up for driving like that. I realized afterward that I actually HAD heard from the nanny before the meeting -- the throttle governor. I came around a corner in a continuous lane at a T intersection just after a rock truck went across and I had a chance to get around it before we went back to 1 lane. I punched it and didn't shift fast enough, so I ran into the max on the RPMs. That wasn't really the nanny I meant though.

This past Saturday I got a chance to drive up Golden Gate Canyon with no traffic around (it's more common to get stuck behind one or more cars). This is one of the canyons that I was guaranteed to run into Ms. Nanny on the RT. On the RT, she'd show up pretty frequently and forcefully. I guess I went fast enough on the F3 to wake her up, because she did a little braking action on me. Still... it wasn't the same. I could tell she was braking, but it wasn't like I was getting shut down, and I was able to maintain my speed and fun :)

Great..!!

so now you know she is there watching over you. When you find a way to get her to take a nap, let us know...:roflblack::roflblack:

Waking up nanny

If you're waking up the nanny, then you are riding just right. You're not going too slow and you're not going too fast. It's just right.

did the same ride today

and ran into her at the same spot, but it could be that there's still some gravel in the center of the lane so the back tire breaks loose a bit in addition to the tight turn. Time will tell -- could be leaning in more would keep her sleeping.

If you happen to be in the area at this time of year and want to have some fun (maybe -- depends on your idea of fun), drive north on Stove Prairie Road from either Rist Canyon or from Buckthorn Rd (though there's a lot of construction still on Buckthorn). There is so much gravel on the road that the back tire just danced from side to side, and no nanny action. I was definitely not used to this extreme level of gravel nor the "loose" behavior of the Spyder, so while it was kind of fun, at first it kind of wasn't. By the end of the ride I'd decided it was more fun than not, but it was helpful to learn more about the F3.

Same here . . .

. . . I get the feeling I am a pretty aggressive rider too.

I've noticed the back tire swinging around on some tight corners, especially where there's a little oil on the pavement and I am 'accelerating' through it. The first time I was; "Whoaa". Second time, "Wow! I like this!".

I think my Nanny is more shy than yours, or maybe I am not as aggressive as you. I think she stepped in when I took a wide left turn and the left wheel started to rise up. My old Nannies on my GS and ST-S never let it go that far on that turn.
