There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Filling radiator over flow tank?

Thought I'd check my reservoir tank today and it was a bit below the cool level. When I tried to fill it, the reservoir filled up to the neck, but the fluid level in the tank stayed at the level it was when I started.

Seems like the tank did not let the antifreeze go into the tank??

Is there something in the tank the prevents the antifreeze from going in?

Im confused.

Since he posted in RT shop talk, guessing he has an RT, just not sure which year. I know with my 2010 RT, I have filled it up and then noticed it drops down to the upper fill mark. Not sure if there is some sort of plumbing to account for that or not, but as long as its at that mark and the needle stays out of the red, Im happy.

Sorry, its at 2014 RT-S.

Read the manual, but it doesn't say anything special. Says to NOT overfill.

No, bike was not running. Never heard of a cooling system that had to be running to add coolant.

Coolant filling

So your saying that it takes time to get from the fill spout to the tank?

You really can't see the coolant level in the tank without shining a flashlight either through the filler neck or from the backside of the tank. I think you where seeing a shadow and mistook it for the fluid level. It appears you have now overfilled it.

Naw, not my first rodeo. I was using a flashlight and was jiggling the bike to see the fluid level in the tank. It was showing just below the cool fill level line. I'll look at it today to confirm where its at.

I've always wondered if adding a coloring agent, i.e. food coloring or similar would help and not harm......
