• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The driver was killed. A state contracted tractor/mower combo pulled out in front of him.

didn't stand a chance

How absolutely terrible. A horrible loss, my sympathy to the family and all involved.

Hopefully on the spyder you will have a little more of a chance. I read that a spyder will stop in about 130 ft. at 60 mph. I also read that a 2 wheel motorcycle takes about the same as the average family car, about 360 ft. or more depending on experience and practice stopping.

I worry about getting rear ended as much as anything with the quick stopping ability of the spyder. We all want to stay alive and most of us try to be safe but some crashes just can't be avoided.

Any thoughts?

You have the right idea. Trust no one, expect the unexpected. I look at the rearview every time I plan a slow down or a stop--just in case. Construction zone yesterday--65 to 55. Signs all over the place. Traffic ahead doing the proper slowdown, the person behind me--no way. They jumped to the left lane and whizzed by like I was standing still.

Action!

Seeing fatalities in Las Vegas prompted me to become a MSF instructor. I have a policy: my guys don't die! None have, thank god! Maybe they listened.......Joe
