• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3S Power Port FWD accessory power

I'm trying to determine the best location to install a 12V power port off of the provided forward customer accessory wiring... I have the rear under seat 12v socket but want a dash area mounted socket to provide power to other accessories. Curious where others have mounted their power sockets. Any pictures of installs appreciated... I'm currently considering a surface mount just forward of the gauge package but am open to other ideas. This would allow powering of my GPS which mounts on the crossmember bar of my F4 custom windscreen....

Thanks for any feedback or options !

Thanks for the feedback !

I looked at at that location as a possibility... Having an accessory plug in front of my gauges seems to be the only "con" with placing it there. The garmin power plug is pretty decent size. What do you usually power off of the port and is it used while driving ? Thanks again !

I feel the same way. I don't want anything to affect my view. I installed the USB port under my seat and have plans to install the mono seat for a water tight space for charging

I normally use it to power my Garmin but instead of the garmin 12v cord, I use the USB cord with a 90deg adaptor. Nothing is in front of my gauges.

Follow-up solution

Ok, after looking at a couple different options I decided to go with a surface mount dual 12v/sub combo plug that mounted on the angled backside (fwd) of my gauge cluster. The surface mount 12v/sub socket set was attached with 3M 30lb double sided tape after cleaning all surfaces with alcohol and is very secure. All in all very pleased with the finished product !
