• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Someone did a Great write up of the Oil Change for the F3 and I searched and searched and cannot find it. What do you do to get access to the actual filter??? :dontknow:

Try this..

When searching for a threat or post try google they seem to be able to find them all. I have not had a successful search here but may not be doing it right. Your manual has the oil change process and a quick visit to cheapcycleparts.com will give you a parts break down and show you a lot. A shop manual is the best way to go be it online or hard bound if you are doing your own work...

There is a large plastic tube with a screw-on cover sticking up at an angle on the right side if the engine. You need a36mm spanner/wrench to undo it, the same size as the axle adjusting device.

More importantly you need a T45 torx driver for the engine drain plug -I chose one with a 3/8 square head drive fitting.

I just changed mine after only putting 2,500 miles on the engine after the first initial 3,000 mile check up....and the dealer changed the oil and checked everything out ....why....cause I over filled it and blew oil out the dip stick and breather. The dip stick is really hard to read as far as my eyes can see. Would have been better if they had used a flat piece of metal instead of that plastic tip....errrr. Anyway I only put 5 qts back in (per the dealers advice) and I changed the filter too. The dealer even told me it's a pain to read the dip stick and told me to use a paper towel to check the level. With 5 qts back in it the towel got wet just a little past the "A" point on the stick...so, that is where I left it. A better dip stick would be a good after product for someone to come up with....I sure would buy it.

Just place the dipstick on a piece of paper towel - the oil will wick onto the towel and so you can see more easily just where it is on the dip stick. If you like I will produce a kit of paper towel pieces to place against the dip stick. ;-) Even a flat dipstick can be hard to read with fresh oil
