I finally got around to installing the F3 idler with Doc's bracket kit on my 2010 RT.
Now I know there had been discussion about installing on the earlier models and whether it would work with the drive belts that have the ridges on them.
The install was exactly the same as other models. After install, the test ride was great. After I put the ISCI floorboards on I could really feel the vibrations from belt slap but now there is none. Very smooth and a lot more comfortable ride. The only thing is a little bit of whine that you can barely hear. But with the radio up, I can't hear it at all. It's more noticeable when slowing down to turn or stop. But a very quiet whine. Doesn't bother me at all. After a while it while probably become unnoticeable.
So there you go, anyone wondering what will happen when using with a ribbed belt. Best money I've spent on it, very reasonable at $80 total for kit and idler combined. If you're contemplating it, do it. You won't regret it.
