• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 after first oil change

I got my first oil change at 5700 miles. I must say, the engine is noticeably smoother. I can change gears at 6000 to 7000 rpm's without a disturbing amount of vibration. So it is now more noticeably quick and fun.

The oil had broken down and thinned out. 5700 was too many miles for the oil that was in there. Suggest better oil and or shorter drain intervals. If the old oil was in good condition, you would not have noticed the improvement.

From what I understand, the oil change interval is 9000 miles.

You did go over but I appreciate what you are saying. I always feel like my bike runs better after I service it.

9300 miles or 1 year whichever comes first. Most seem to miss the annual service requirement which is the governing case for most Spyder owners.

Having seen the results of oil analysis on BRP Syn blend oil, I'd never run it 9300 miles in a bike I intended to keep.

Changed mine to full synthetic Rotella at 2500 miles. The change in engine noise, shift smoothness and easy of backing on a cold engine were very noticeable. Will get its second change at 5k and then every 5k from then on done by my self. I only had the dealer do the first one for a TSB and the BUDS software updates.

First service which includes the oil change is 3k for the 1330, dont know where your getting the 9300

My first one is currently being done at 1005 miles, about 200 past what I wanted but we had great weather lol. It will get new oil and filter every 3000 miles from now on. Yeah ok maybe 3500 once in a while if most are highway miles but never over that.

Oil and filters are cheap, ......well compared to replacing the engine and or transmission.
