• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Accessories and Packages

Does anyone know if you purchase an access. pkg. e.g. "urban nights package", prior to delivery will you have to pay for installation, or is that covered by dealer/brp. Also if you require a different ufit position than standard peg 3, will the cost be covered in your original purchase price.

when i bought my rt i had to order all the extras separate, most dealers will do the install for free. ask your dealer

Don't know..!!

but it is my understanding that the packages are just that and you buy and install at your cost. It would be a dealer thing if they do it for free. Don't know if you get a break if you include a package at perchase...:banghead:

Work it into the deal.
When I hammered out my deal, came to a price and then with a smile I said we're close!
I've got a BajaRon Bar & Tri-Axis bars, if you through in the labor to install them we have a deal...
At the end of the day all they can say is no.

Accessory "Packages"

I think this has already been discussed at some length. These so called "Packages" aren't really sold that way or come that way from the factory. The individual pieces must be bought for whatever they're listed for in the catalog then either installed by the dealer or by the owner. The stock parts these pieces replace have to be taken off the F3 to be stored or re-sold by the owner. Don't let the dealer keep them to resell himself unless he is giving you some sort of discount on the new parts or on the labor. You bought those parts when you purchased your ride. Considering the cost of these pieces it would in some cases be cheaper to buy an RT or RT-S for the storage and touring amenities. It just depends upon what you want or need from your machine.

I would imagine that it would be cheaper for you to have the "package" installed during initial setup. I know my dealer did not charge me for accessories that I added to my original purchase.

We have had quite a bit of discussion on the new F3 and the various packages etc. that are offered.

I am thinking that this has not been well thought out by BRP and the dealers. It appears from what I have seen and heard, so far, that the parts are all individual--depending on exactly what you want. There appears to be no specific package price (which you think would be discounted based on a group of parts purchased).

Then there is the issue of installation. Free or so much per hour or per package?

We are going to be finding out soon enough...but IMO...it would be good to have some firm information. The last time I went to the "build it" site, everything was separate. It has been over 30 days.

I am interested for informational purposes only. An F3 is not in my agenda at the moment.

installation labor

My dealer is charging me standard labor rates to install all of the upgrades. That leaves kind of a bad taste in my mouth.

It should. Most dealers do free free labor on accessories on new purchase

How do you know that most dealers do free labor on accessories on the new purchase?
BTW -- my dealer is also charging for labor on the accessories that I have ordered. Just a bit skeptical about this blanket statement with nothing to back it up.

The Best My Dealer has Done

Since I am a good and regular customer, my dealer usually gives me a discount on my parts, accessories and clothing. This doesn't apply to labor but it still helps quite a bit. Now this has been with regard to Victory Motorcycles stuff so far and not anything from BRP since I don't yet have a Can Am Spyder. I am inclined to think he would continue to give me some sort of discount though. My dealer is American Powersports in Findlay Ohio.

I have run into pretty much the same. I am a pretty good customer at the dealership where I trade. Eight motorcycles/:spyder2:'s since 2001. He charges for install on accessories. We do negotiate a price for the install--usually less than shop rate manual.

Since 2003

I have bought 3 brand-new motorcycles from my dealer since 2003. A 2003 Yamaha Royal Star Venture, a 2007 Yamaha Roadliner S, and a 2012 Victory Cross Country. In the interim I've bought lots of parts & accessories as well as jackets, helmets and clothing from him. He always treats me right and has a very good service department. Did I mention he also sells Can Am Spyders?

Pay me now...pay me later...

My dealer is charging me for installation of accessories for the F3 but I got 15% off of the accessories themselves (a savings of $543.44). I'm guessing about 3 labor hours @$80 = $240. Not complaining.:f_spider:
