There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F1 Mantis Fairing ?

The fairing came in today! My order # was 196 and when I ordered the fairing I said that I was interested in the top case as well. After seeing the semi-finished design of the filing cabinet I decided that it wasn't for me. As some of you know I have been waiting several months. I ordered this before the BRP show in D.C. My excitement has now dimenished. Here are a few pics.

Hmmmm.... We'll, I'm glad you got it finally---- will await your full report.... assuming you're keeping it?

I can sense the disappointment in your post. :( I was hoping it would turn out to be something really great for you, that was actually worth the wait.

For what u paid for that I'd send it back and I'd be a bit angry about it
and I'm not voicing my opinion as much as I want because this is a family friendly site:D

Thats why I ordered mine unfinished so I could do it like it needs to be to look like part of the bike. After seeing two of the finished units at his shop I was not happy with the paint work. Glad you finally got it, hope you can make it fit better or return it and get your money back. Keep us posted. My order # is 626 so mabe they will have the kinks out by then, if not I will fix it like I want it. Thanks for the info and the pictures.:spyder:

It appears no matter how you order it, it comes unfinished. I am always nervous about wads of electrical tape instead of proper connections. Is the color match as bad as it looks in the pics? The edge finish is terrible as well. I am truly sorry and hope that you can make it work to your satisfaction. Marcel has been called out on the other site and I think it is time for some more drastic measures. Anyone here had a good experience? Marcel has mentioned Docduro as a supporter. Is it true?? I wouldn't mind the wait for a very high quality part, but not for this kind of workmanship.

Not only has Marcel ranted and left Spydertalk..... he likes to rant about this site as well.

------------------

He just can't take criticism at all... when people have very valid complaints (long delivery times, poor quality, not returning emails and calls, ect.).

He just doesn't get it.

slow down

I talked to Marcel a few moments ago. I explaned some of the issues that I had and when he learned what my situation was he realized that I had been shipped the wrong fairing. I ordered my fairing with vents and this one was ventless. I also told him that the paint didn't match. He told me that the solid yellow paint was wrong and that he had a millinium yellow one that he would fit with the vents and send to me. He researched the shipping records and called me back to inform me that my fairing had shipped to Texas by mistake. He is sending pickup orders to UPS to get this one back to his shop. We need to remember that we all make mistakes so lets not lower ourselves to the bashing level. More of this :chat: prevents this :opps:. I am still hoping that my :spyder:will be improved to my satifaction. He also told me that he didn't realize that I had cancelled the order for the rear site case and would find out about my charges as well. Keep the faith, Peace out.

I would question how much better the other one could be (paint in particular).

So you paid in full on a CC for both the fairing and rear cases?

That just isn't a good business practice-- every place I deal with doesn't charge your card until the item ships.

You're a very patient person.

Keep us posted--- hopes this works out for the best.

I hope things get worked out for you. Unfortunately I had a similar experience some time ago with one of his shields. Sent me the wrong one, and then told me it was their mistake and would send me the correct one. Waited and waited, sent e-mails and calls, and was told it was on its way. Weeks went by and after several more calls and e-mails I was told it hadn't been shipped out, but would be sent asap. I finally received it but lost faith in the company.

Well I agree that their customer service is lacking. I also know that they monitor these post.
Maybe we can all improve our relationship with :chat: .
Conversation is inexpensive but can lead to something priceless. No mater how you slice it we all belong to the blue rock. Look at the news around the world and appreciate how fortunate we are. Ryde it b4 u can't :doorag:

I guess I am the odd duck here as I have two of his windshields both of which I like very much. Both were delivered to me in a timely fashion and the Queen shield which is on my bike now is really good.
Sorry you are having a time with the faring. There are very few mod guy that would take on trying to make one of these. Guess it pretty much all he can do to get these done.
Good Luck,
Mike :D

I feel for you man...this is a pathetic story. Merchants these days should be more on the ball. Good luck...many don't have half the patience that you do...I'm glad my experiences with merchants here have been very good (ESI, Kewlmetal)...perhaps it's best for us to stick with sponsors as they have a vested interest??

mike, when did you purchase yours?

Hello Mike,
I bought my only windshield from Marcel in Oct/Nov. 2008 and had quick, nice service as well. I bought the EvoIII Slider. Very pleased with the windshield fit and finish. I am wondering when you bought yours? Maybe after the spyder started getting more popular, he had more and more orders and may not be able to keep up with the demand. I hate to hear the problems some are having with getting their products from him. I would like to consider a different windshield from F1 because I definately like the looks of some of them, but unfortunately, I'm kinda gun shy now. I just bought a used CHAD off of Roaddog2. Gonna see how I like it. I am looking for more wind protection.

Hey it's been a bad year for everybody. Marcel has had his own difficulties just like the rest of us. When he ventured into the Spyder fairings with fiberglass and paint to contend with he hired more people to help get the work done. I think it's just growing pains and he will rise to the occasion. Ede sent a UPS shipping label today for the fairing return and is working to get the correct one to me ASAP.
Give them a call or e-mail if you need another shield.

I dunno guys---- after seeing the 'quality' of the rear pieces---- I can't see how anyone would pay for these things:

http://canamspyders.com/index.php?showtopic=489

Zoom in on them and you'll see tons of imperfections--- ontop of the entire rear setup being flat out ugly.

I hope people who ordered these can get their $5,000 back.
