Extended Warranty Purchasing Advice Needed

West Powersorts in Clearwater offered me one, I refused it; and I'm planning to buy one from iMotorsports.

I just had an excellent experience talking to Thomas Palmer at iMotorSports as well! YES the 36 months for $671 deal is still available!!

Thank you Thomas and EVERYONE on this Forum for all the great help and advice since becoming a proud Spyder Ryder! :)

When I bought my 2015, I purchased the Extended 3-year warranty from a dealer other than the one I purchased the bike from. I also remember I had up to 2 years (equivalent to the base warrant period) to purchase the warranty.

I tried finding a price on Can Am site but failed.

What is the going price of the extended warranty and where should I purchase it.

Thanks in advance.

Their will be no BRP BEST warranty available to you. That said, you'll likely have to hunt around for a third party warranty. Could be tough for a 9 year old vehicle.

Don't waste your time looking for some third party extended warranty that may have all kinds of exclusions and a high deductible. Just rat hole some $$ each month to cover repairs that might arise if you want to avoid a financial jolt.

If you're thinking of buying a '23 or '24 Spyder, as it seems you are from your other recent posts, then you'll need to purchase the BEST (BRP backed ;) ) Extended Warranty BEFORE your original 'New Spyder' Warranty runs out! :lecturef_smilie:

So if you got 2 years OEM Warranty on a new Spyder purchase, then you have until that runs out to buy your BEST extended warranty; or you'll need to do it within 12 months of your original documented purchase date if you only got a 1 year OEM Warranty! I don't know if they're still doing the 2-year warranty offers, IIRC that is usually only offered when they want to move the last of the previous MY stock! :dontknow:

However, AFAICS from all the posts in this thread & all the other threads about these warranties on the Forum already, iMotorsports is still the place to go for a good deal @ that $671 price, but I'm pretty sure other dealers could match that if they were so inclined & not quite so intent on taking your hard earned $$! If you want to confirm, you should do your own search by typing 'BEST' into the Search field up toward the Top Right of the page (make sure you tick the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop-down list too! ;) ) but I do reckon that this thread already has all the info you need.

Good Luck!

As the others have said, you're SOL on the BRP BEST warranty. But the answer to your question, the BRP BEST = ~$670 3 years warranty extension from the dealership that I purchased it from.

Besides what Poster #2 said ...... IMHO I would wait until your OEM warranty was close to expire ..... Why ? - well if you sell the Spyder next year or so you won't have even used the BEST warranty yet ..... .....Mike

You and I are on the same page

I’m going to disagree with ARTravelers instruction to never get a Non-BRP Extended Warranty. I’ve had warranties which were not BRP. A Zurich 7 year warranty on a 17 F3 Ltd, used twice while traveling. Neither BRP dealership had any issues with it. The cost for the policy was just a bit more that $750. I will be getting an extended warranty from ASC early next year as my 22 F3 Ltd approaches the expiration of the factory warranty.

I am thinking there is a mis-interpretation here my friend.

I have said that I, ME, etc. would not buy an extended warranty. I did take the freebie that was offered on my new 2014 when I bought it. For ME, I have never needed the extended warranty. I have also said it was like gambling. I win, or I lose. In MY case, I won. In my case, seven Spyders at $700 would have cost me $4900 extra in warranty expense. In my case it was never needed. I look at MY situation as saving $4900 over the course of the years and 200,000 Spyder miles. In most of my posts on the subject, and there were many, I usually put in the disclaimer to others that their choice is up to them, and it is their money.

Statistically, it is usually said that most extended warranties are NEVER used. It is a heck of an add on and adds a lot of "fluff" to the bottom line on the sale.

On the other side, the Spyder is a very expensive machine. Most major repairs make the $671 (current price) of the warranty appear to be a bargain. No one is a loser if they buy the extended warranty. And I am endorsing the CanAm BEST warranty program. I still do not endorse any other aftermarket warranties. That is even more of a gamble.

This is my respectful disagreement to your statement about me personally.

Hi Everyone,

I'm researching discussions on the best place to purchase the B.E.S.T. Extended Warranty at the best price; unfortunately, most of the threads I'm seeing are really old.

Looking for recent input on who's got the best prices. Is iMotorsports I see referenced in old posts still valid? To those that have recently purchased, where did you purchase from, and if you don't mind sharing, what ballpark price should I be looking for? Both my husband and I have 2022 RT S2S we purchased a week apart; so, I've got 2 warranties to purchase at the same time.

Definitely, looking for the best price possible.

In April of 2023, I purchased an additional 3 yr. BEST from Motomember in Purcellville, VA for $671. Call and ask for Holly (703) 552-9988, to see if they will still match the price. You should also call Imotorsports and Sierra Cycles to find out if the price is still valid.

iMoto said about 2 weeks ago that they still offer the BEST warranty for $671. You do not have to purchase the BEST from the dealer you purchased your Spyder from. Prices will vary from dealer to dealer. $671 is about the best price you will find on BEST warranty.

I assume that's for 3 years?
The one year that BRP is offering us 2024 spyder owners for $500 is definitely over priced and not a good deal.

It is unless you have more than the factory provided 2 year warranty. I received an extra year as a purchasing promotion on my 2022 RTL. Therefore I currently have a 3 year factory warranty. My additional BEST purchase is going to cost me $671 for an additional 2 years. You can only have 5 years total warranty under the BEST program. Bummer for me (and anyone else who got the extra year for free).

AR, Sir, … My sincere apology for, yes, my misinterpretation of your words. Apology, and another for good measure.

Yes, that is for the longest warranty provided for BEST. I cannot remember two or three.

Did your "dealer" offer you the $500 for one year, or did that come direcdtly from BRP. I was under the impression that dealers set the pricing. Caveat Emptor as the economists say.

I have seen quoted here up to $1500 for the BEST warranty from some dealers. It does pay to shop around. Some dealers are less mercenary than others. $671 IS a real price.

Bought a $671 BEST from iMotosport this past May - for my ‘17 F3-S … which was still within its 2-year factory warranty! Double and triple-checked with Mr. Palmer there that I could indeed get the extension, even on a several-year-leftover trike. He assured me all was good. And I have verified its coverage at my dealership since. My extended warranty will expire in '27 on my '17 Spyder! (Probably about the time we won’t be able to find parts for it anymore!!)
