My 2 cents.... I bought an extended 4 year warranty from the dealer for about $350 Normally I don't do this, but I'm getting older and the back and knees don't like me working on vehicles so much any more.
I also bought it as I am not 100% sold on Can-am quality, specifically in the areas of electrical circuits, harness's and wiring. Mechanically I "believe" the Rotax engine is solid, but have no experience with them.
I'm appalled at the amount of RUST I see in all the video's I see. Maybe it's not common, but there is more rust/ corrosion/ dirt on some Spyder's than on my 20 year old Toyota... Although warranty will likely not cover this sort of "damage".
For these reasons, I bought a warranty.
