Extended Warranty Purchasing Advice Needed

I'm one of the blokes whose B.E.S.T. extended warranty expired unused. My parking brakes motor was replaced about a year after I bought the bike when it was still under factory warranty. Would I do it again? Based on what I've read about the 2020-2022 MYs yes. I know it's a crap shoot. I hope to get at least 150K out of my '14 RT-S and I'm working on 82K now. Pandemic has eaten into my annual mileage.

Like ARTraveler said "It's A Crap Shoot"

I hope to never need it but with all of the electronics, you never know. I'll post back "If" I ever need it.

If I had bought my spyder New I would have purchased the extended warranty. It sure paid off when I bought a 3 year extended warranty on my 2009 Yamaha Raider Motorcycle, at 51,000 miles rear wheel bearing froze up and did $1,500.00 worth of damage, have no idea what the labor charges to fix would have been. I purchased said warranty from a 3rd party for less than from dealer.

I just bought the BEST WARRANTY from Tom at Imotorsports (630-634-8428) for my 2021 F3 Spyder today. The price of $671.00 is still good. Very easy process. Have your VIN and a payment option. It took less than 5 mins. You are sent a email conformation while on the phone.

Remember $671 for 3 years of BRP Best from IMOTORSPORTS, THOMAS PALMER (630)634-8428
IMOTORSPORTS is a SPYDERLOVERS sponsor and you are a member, Tell them that.
I'll give you his phone # also
T.P.
Thanks for this number. I picked up my 2021 RT Limited on Monday. Looked over the paper work and she put it into service 12/8/2020. I will be calling them either this week or next.

I had the brake motor replaced under the original 2 yr warranty and the steering column replaced just before the 3 yr BEST extended warranty expired. I don't remember for sure but I think the column replacement exceeded what I paid for the 3 yr BEST.

Buying an extended warranty is like buying life insurance. If you use it. It usually pays for itself. And can be a good selling point if you sell. I bought the maximum amount of warranty I could. Dealer was selling "RPM" which was for 7 years, no deductible and better towing coverage. Per year it was cheaper than the "Best" from BRP. I have already used it twice. I would not own a Spyder with out a warranty! Tom :spyder:

It is a no brainer. A good selling point (if you sell it within that time period). Good for the buyer. A peace of mind. Especially now on the newer models. Parts are hard to come by, so now you have companies pushing these parts out the door in a hurry. Beware, quantity before quality! 6

I had the extended warranty on our '06 GL1800. Used it twice, once for a speed sensor down in the engine, and one month before the expiration, a new seat. Either would have cost more than the extension charge.

It definitely is a crap shoot. But IMHO, $671 is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

That said, I second the Thomas Palmer from iMotorsport suggestion.

It's quick and painless, "easy peasy lemon squeasy".

I just purchased from Tom today for $671.00 - no additional taxes or fees. Like others have said, it was super easy and quick. I have had extended warranties on other vehicles, and used only twice, once on my 2013 pickup, and once on a 2017 minivan. Both paid for themselves. I like the peace of mind it gives me.

Is it worth it? Thats up to you, but with the complexity of the machine, I feel more comfortable.

I have been told by the Dealer that my warranty on my 2020RT is up on December 8. Makes no sense to me because I will have owned it (bought new) 2 years in February. Anywho, I have been trying to get in touch with Mr. Palmer yesterday and today (voicemail every time). Is there anyone else there that does this price? I don't want to have this expire. Early this summer my Spyder was in the shop for Oil change and they said they would have to wait until the system was up again (hacking) to order seat strut and latches for bags. Finally came in and they are pressing me to get there asap to get it taken care of. I am in Southern Illinois and a fair weather rider. Not thrilled about driving over an hour in these temps. Plus, I put it up for the season last month. Long story, sorry.

How many miles were on it when you got it? If the dealer used it as a demo, or designated it as a demo, the warranty period started the date the bike was listed as being in service. It still would have been sold as a new bike later.

I will have to check when I get home but maybe that is the case.

Ask for Tom. If he is not available, ask for anyone in sales and they should be able to help you or direct you to someone who can.

I’m from Florida and I have read the BEST warranty is not sold in Florida, but there is nothing stopping anyone in Florida buying elsewhere out of state. Question is has anyone from Florida done this and used the BEST warranty in Florida. Have they had any problems using it? Just wondering since it is not offered in Florida if needed would there be problems using it.
