• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can anyone please tell me how many feet of the 2" wrap is needed. They sell in 50' X 2" rolls for $45.00 or 15' X 2" for $14.00.

If there's a bunch left over of the 50' roll I might be better off getting 2 - 15' rolls. Which one should I buy?

I just did mine a week or so ago. They recommend the 1 inch for bikes and I used all but 1/4 of a 50 ft roll and plan on using it to continue past the 1st joint in the rear pipe. Once you open the package there is a chart that you use based on the size of pipe and how many inches you want to wrap. If I remember correctly the pipe was 2 1/8 and the front pipe I wrapped 36 inches and the rear either 12 or 18 inches. I will tell you it is a PIA, took me and the wife and two long pair of needle nose pliers. I do like the results, it lowered under plastics temps a little and really helped the performance and driveability.
 
I have wrapped four as of this date and I've used a little over 3 2" x 50 rolls. But I wrap with a 75 % overlap. On the long long pipe from the front cylinder I also do a second layer all the way to the "Y" pipe connector. This helps subdue the heat in that leg area. When the weather gets a little cooler I plan to add a second layer on the aft cylinder pipe. The aft pipe is the tough one to wrap especially when the weather is hot. Now having said this it is well worth wrapping them because it really does help with the heat in the engine compartment. Ken krb1945
 
50 foot roll of 2" wrap did mine and my wife's left header pipe, and my rear cylinder header pipe. If you get the 15 foot roll, you will want some of the stainless steel zip ties (which are a pain to use) as you will run out and have to start over somewhere in the middle of the left pipe.

I also recommend leaving the panels off when you begin curing it, as it will smoke like crazy and isn't the best smelling stuff around.

Yes... the wrap helps with the heat on the stomach, legs and feet. On the longest pipe which is from the front cylinder I used a double layer on all 3 of our spyders. I did some temperature tests before and after and as soon as I can find the link I will post it for you to see. Ken krb1945


I couldn't find the link but if memory serves me correctly without the wrap idling for 5 minutes the long pipe beside the front cylinder was about 1100 degrees after wrapping a double layer the temp under the same conditions were about 50 per cent less.

I see you are in Macon... I have a place in Loganville and down south... If you need help installing it I'll let you know when I'll be up in that area. Ken

I'm pretty new to this forum, I have a 10 RT. I notice how hot my right foot gets does wrapping the pipes fix this?

Pipe wrap is not going to help your right foot as the front cylinder exits to the left. That is hot air from the radiator getting your right foot.

Try RePops radiator gap mod for that.

I still highly recommend the exhaust wrap for an overall lowering of engine compartment (thus tupperware) temperature.

I've done both the 1" and the 2". The 1" is easier to get around the bends and gives a smoother transition, the 2" takes less effort and time because you're covering more ground with each wrap (DUH!).

I use radiator hose clamps on my wrap ends. Have not tried the twist ties. They probably work fine but just did not appeal to me and I had the hose clamps anyway....Well, Lamont had the hose clamps but it's all the same....Right!? :D

The Missing Air Dam kit is for the RS, as is the Air Management System. The RT already has similar features. I suggest wearing substantial footwear (like sturdy boots) and possibly changing your foot position slightly, to keep it from touching the body.
 
I have been a big fan of ceramic coating for a number of years. It is amazing how a thin coat of that stuff can hold the heat in so well. You can have the pipes done inside as well as out also. You can chose a silver color to accentuate the pipes, or a black to help them disappear. The pipes on 2333 are black. You can also do new or used pipes. I bought a new exhaust system and had it done for 2333, but that is just me.

I saw that exhaust can for sale, and was seriously considering switching out my Hindle for it. :thumbup:

I think it looks awesome, but, I can't seem to figure out how to get the popping to go away. I just changed out the Y gaskets, adjusted the juice box every which way, put slits on the end of the pipe, using the RTV gasket stuff, moved the clamp around, you name it. I got this on my Hindle too, but not nearly as much as this pipe. By popping, I mean when I let off the throttle, decelerate and when I hit the throttle again..pop, pop, pop, or sometimes BANG! LOL.

Try the O2 mod from evoluzione.net instead of the stock O2 sensor.
