• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Exhaust Gasket Temporary Fix - on the road....

Our '08 has begun to leak at the small end of the Y-pipe. Ok, I didn't learn and replace with the Honda gasket....

Point is, we're on the road staying in Spokane Valley, WA. We did trailer out here so it's not that we can't get home, just that SpyderDeb can't ride. Dealers are closed around here Sun and Mon, meaning Tuesday AM would be the earliest to see if they had a pair.

The gaskets are largely there. Just a couple of tracks where they started to burn through/leak, coincident with the gaps in the flanges (that should be a clue to BRP on failure). Anyone successfully try a repair with high temp silicone or something available through a auto parts store?

My cell phone is 612-432-3438.

Thanks!!!

Wayne- I have some Honda Gaskets here at my shop and could ship them to wherever you are... just drop me a PM of where and when you want them and I can ship a pair out Tuesday morning.

You could use some high-temp RTV silicone to get you by - but taking it apart is going to make your leak bigger as the gasket will break apart when you separate the pipes. Maybe some high temp exhaust wrap could get you by.....

I've used the aluminum muffler tape in a pinch when I had a leak in San Diego and it worked pretty good. Pull the pipe down and wrap the pipe and then slide the pipe back on.

Thanks Rick, Buck1234, Firefly, and Lamonster. The donuts are intact - caught it early enough to avoid total disintegration. I've got a couple of good suggestions which I will work on.

This forum is the greatest - 20 minutes for three responses!!

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!
